Before you either take my word as Gospel or assume that I’m BSing through my teeth, take a look at this. It’s a list of some concept art I’ve never seen before (well, most of it anyway) that I found on Reddit. There’s a picture labeled “REQ packs concept” where it looks like you could buy them with credits, and these look way more visually stimulating than what we have now. It’s all speculative, of course.
WHOA WHOA WHOA I can’t be the only one who saw that first pic, the scope showed what weapon your enemy is using… This would have been awesome in game!! SEE NOW THATS INNOVATING HALO’s GAMEPLAY!! NOT CHANGING THE FORMULA BUT EXPANDING UPON IT FOR THE BETTER…!!!

That’d actually be really cool. I also feel that the BR scope could work for the game.

Yes, but even assuming this is real it would be buying random items so what is the difference if they call it credits or Req point?
Other than having a million more packs (what does it all amount to anyway?), and changing the name from “REQ Points” to “Credits”, there’s nothing different about this system. It doesn’t even solve people’s major complaint, that people have to unlock them randomly.
But some people are easily entertained by having something appearing to be different, I guess.

There’s a chance that there weren’t going to be any micro-transactions.

It’s just fun to look at these and discuss them. Nothing wrong with that.

Oh that’s not what I was talking about. It’s when people take one look and it’s already the best thing ever, and 343i are incompetent for essentially just changing the name.

Yeah, but we don’t know what that is. It could be real-life currency or something else entirely. Other games have had more than one way to buy items in-game before.
