Greetings Spartans!
I have a couple of concerns and productive things to say about Halo 5: Guardian’s Warzone PVP variant gametype.
First off, I think Warzone is a game changer. It has been since the moment it arrived. I love it! I love it so much, I have a lot of good times with it so far! I love the good times you get some sweet kills with a hard earned REQ weapon or vehicle, I love the large maps and freedom. The coordination with a couple of buddies, the awesome feeling of taking back a base after some serious offense. Then there’s the bad times. Every so often for me, maybe more for the rest of you, you’ll get those matches where you are just pushed so far back into the spawn base. You have literally no way out… I mean at least not more then 100 feet on a ghost without being blown up by the surrounding 5 tanks outside the base. There’s nothing you can do but hopelessly stand your ground for the next 5 to 8 minutes while the enemy team just soaks up the kills for fun and pure entertainment. You’re afraid to leave because you don’t want to get the temporary matchmaking ban hammer either. You simply have to just take the beating.
I love Warzone so much, but the formula NEEDS to change for Halo 6. I have friends who won’t even touch Warzone… and that sucks. I really just want to enjoy Warzone with them. It has so much potential to be so much greater! Here’s my proposed ideas:
- Remove the “core” in each base. Make Warzone more of a huge and longer time limit strongholds game like the arena strongholds. - Add much stronger defensive units, something similar to Halo 4’s turrets in the Dominion mode that sit outside of the spawning base and target any enemy players just farming kills. Maybe EMP turrets to shut down vehicles and tanks farming kills that get to close to the base? That would help so much in the kill farming that happens outside of the backed up base. - Change the spawns where there is no spawning bases at all, simply spawn points where teams spawn on one side. Once teams spawn in they can take bases they can spawn at like the original Warzone. If a team loses all bases, they’ll simply spawn around the map in the multiple spawns points therefore cutting off any kill farming. There should be multiple vehicle spawn zones too so there is not vehicle spawn killing if the opposite team gets that coordinated.
