Before I begin rambling I just wanted to say that Halo 5 is a good game, but it certainly has its problems. And I’m here to talk about two big problems in Warzone Firefight… I’ve notice, while in a Firefight grind for Firefight mastery commendation, that the main challenge is trying to predict the flawed spawn and boss system. The most aggravating, for me at least, is the spawning. While defending an objective or taking out a boss, the number of reinforcements is incredible high, I’m looking at you Prometheans. The size and quick spawn rate of Prometheans needs to be reduced. When trying to defend an armory on round 2 against my team was bombarded with the amount teleporting in right near us and firing tracing rounds and killing us, to only have the base be half way taken over by the time we get back to the location, and by this time even more have spawned! I hate when on round 1 of Skirmish on Darkstar two Phaetons spawn and fire entire bombardments of Promethean missiles. The way Prometheans spawn in is also flawed, it seems to be problematic in two completely different objectives. When trying to hunt them for kill rounds, it is a pain to find them because I cant see them spawn over buildings and even slight elevations. Meanwhile when trying to save the Spire or such, it seems like they throw every possible prepared unit at us and we get over run.
I think you can understand my point about spawning but now I want to talk about the bosses themselves. Sometimes they can be laughably easy, but other times they seem like they should be a final boss on round 5. On Raid on Apex 7, the two Banshees that appear on round 2 are horrible. Most of the team only have battle rifles and sometimes not even. For a round 2 boss, they do way too much damage, I was shoot with two projectiles from the banshees and half of my health was already gone; not to mention the swarm of elites and jackels following you. They would good round 3 bosses, when people have 4-5 req levels, but two is too early. Later when everyone has wraiths or whatever, the bosses can still be a problem. Yes, I already did the section on spawns but boss spawns can be even worse. Most commonly, a home bass. why put large, bullet-sponge behemoths in the game if you cant use tanks or flying vehicles to combat them. The mythic ones always hide in the back of the bass where only infantry can reach them, but because the bosses are so strong, they can usually one hit Spartans. Also, the two knights on Urban, the ones that spawn in the back, are also horrendous.
It is still possible to win these rounds, obviously, but they need some polishing. So here are my thoughts on how these issues could be fixed…
- Make the Promethean spawn warp bubble things shoot a light beacon in the sky, so players can react faster and not waste time looking in every possible location for them.
1.5. or just give the Prometheans a dropship, like the Covenant. - Reduce the number of bosses on certain rounds, 6 hunters on round 3 of March on Stormbreak is a little much…
- Show the next objective/boss spawn location during the intermission, Waiting for the round to start to see what req you should apply is just bad programming.
3.5 Also make it so we don’t have to wait for the bosses to spawn in, 15 extra seconds actually matters in some rounds.
4.Let players spawn where they want to, spawning in an enemy congested armory is bull crap, also let people spawn where they want their vehicles to spawn in regular Warzone, too.
That was longer than expected, sorry. If you have suggestions (or want to call me an offensive remark) then type it out, addressing problems is how they are fixed.
