I disagree. Spartans die too fast as it is without vehicle weapons, I wouldn’t want to imagine how fast they would die with them being buffed.
Gauss Hog - Yeah, no…that should be self explanatory right there.
Rocket Hog - I don’t think it would serve any point.
Chain Hog - Only if it’s not tied to spread at all.
It is needed if they want to make passenger not garbage. As many problems I have with halo ce, it had the most fun passenger, I have no idea why they made it third person later on. I think that zooming as the driver should be the toggle between first and third person, maybe they could work in a way to get you to switch, like third person for spatial awareness but first to view monitors that display information such as health, emp alert if someone on the mini map has a plasma pistol, or a top down warthog that shows where the passenger and turret are aiming along with their health. Let’s add some interesting new mechanics, and not stupid lazy ones (coughwarthog boostcough)

Are you joking? Vehicles are unbelievably underpowered in halo 4. The hog turret needs to be returned to its H3 state, and every other vehicle to its reach damage model. Increased spartan movement speed and the thruster ability is going to make it even harder to track and kill infantry in vehicles, so ALL vehicles needs to be buffed to level the playing field. And in case you didn’t realize, vehicles are supposed to be powerful, if they werent, no one would use them.
How about they get rid of the square shield and give us back the iconic hexagonal plate. Have any of you guys played halo 4 on legendary, enemy vehicles are so op it stopped being funny at normal. The hog doesn’t last long against even a storm rifle, a halo 2 hog could take and dish out a fair amount of punishment, it’s like Apple makes the hog now instead of Microsoft, nice and flashy just don’t actually try and use it for real work.

They’re underpowered because they are weak and could be destroyed easily, NOT because the turret doesn’t do enough damage. The machine gun turret could still kill people in under a second.
Idk, but a bit off topic, I would LOVE to see the option for 1st person view while driving the Hog. It would add a whole new challenge to the game, and would feel more like driving than it does right now.

No one would use it because it would put you at an incredible disadvantage. For that perfectly logical reason 343 will not put it in the game.
Put a sniper scope on the guass warhog… end of big team battles.

The H4 LAAG Warthog is a double-edged blade as far as balance VS Halo 3 goes.
Pro: Tight spread when firing is controlled
Cons: Low DMG per bullet, overheat
However, speaking from experience as a gunner, I’d take the H4 turret over the H3. I’m more than willing to sacrifice DMG/shot+overheat for near-pinpoint accuracy. Granted, the H3 LAAG was a chainsaw against other light/med vehicles and a meatgrinder against footsoldiers at close range, but with descope back I can piss off SS users with that accuracy and that’s far more useful.
I’d say buff the HP of the truck itself and then either:
> Chaingun goes entirely back to Halo 3 rules (INF-fire/low accuracy/high DMG)
> Stays entirely Halo 4-style (Overheat/low DMG/accuracy via bloom scaling)
You start mixing those, either adding Overheat or SS to H3 chaingun or taking the overheat off/damage buffing the H4 LAAG and you start breaking it.
Or the Obviously Superior Option #3:
> Buff HP overall, make Post-War#### and War-Era### LAAG trucks as separate entries.
I think the Warthog’s health will be much less of a concern without an abundance of Plasma Pistols, or Plasma Grenades, though I do like your ideas Aulakauss.

As long as combined small arms fire from 4 or so players does not instantly wreck a hog like it did in reach and H4 i agree it doesnt really matter. But the most annoying thing in the world is taking a swing through the enemy’s spawn and being instantly ripped to shreds by 6 DMRs in less than 5 seconds. That is what i call -Yoink-.
