Literallyz, as I write this article, I am still waiting for Halo 5’s 50+ GB “patch updates” to install in my new Xbox One S alongside my already installed 50GB disc content.
A total of 6 hours have been consumed so far with the average Mb/s being around 20.00
Why is the Xbox One S so slow? Why is Halo 5 so huge? (Don’t answer, I don’t care).
Already Halo Wars 2 and Halo 5 have taken up already a complete third of a 500GB hard drive. This is a joke. Its so funny that nobody is laughing, and its currently 2 am in the morning in Australia and I’m still waiting for 5GB (10%) to download.
This generation of consoles needs to be next gen. Nearly 8 hours in total download time just to play Halo is a not a good sign that Xbox is not going to be a good place for Halo unless the downloads stop. We need next gen discs. (Let’s call them mega discs). They’ll have all the GB on them and they’ll be so powerful and the Xbox will be so powerful that you can simply play the game just like the olden days when you can just play a game whenever you want.

How fast is your internet? I downloaded Halo Wars 2 in about 20-25 mins and I have 200 Mb/s internet speeds
20.00 on average. Could be because its dark and the weather has changed without the sun. Still no excuse, updates shouldn’t be that enormous in the first place.

Games aren’t the same as they used to be. Now you have day one patches and constant updates to them, mixed with so-so internet it’s going to take longer.
in halo 5s case I think they just didn’t compact it down. I bet halo 5 is the biggest game in terms if data but it’s from the biggest in content and such. Luckily I have 3-4 TB to download so it’s not hurting but for those who can’t get those it’s a struggle. You have to constantly juggle games around just to save memory space.
honestly I don’t mind large updates so long as they’re worth it. If fallout were to drop a 20GB update I’d be saying hell yea cuz I know it’s going to be good, with halo the only one I see worth the memory was the most recent one (monitors bounty), everything else was to lackluster for me to see why it took up so much data.
