Halo 5 vs Star Wars Battlefront 3 (Campaign)

Ignore the (Campaign) part of the title. Apparently Star Wars BF won’t have a campaign. Star Wars Battlefront is getting a lot of hype as of late and the game play reveal is on Friday. I’m pretty excited myself, but I am a lot more excited for Halo 5, just for the campaign (and the mp as well). I’m sure that it’s going to have insane environments, and an awesome story. Battlefront, on the other hand, is definitely going to have much more grand-scale battles, but probably not have as great of a story. What are your opinions?

Edit: Battlefront is going to be a mega seller. The battles in the game look amazing. I was very amazed by the trailer, BUT I’m thinking that 343i is going to dazzle us at E3 with Halo 5. Battlefront won’t have a campaign and TBH, I like being able to play a games campaign when I get bored or stressed by the mp. ONE thing I have to say, is quit b***ing over stupid/small changes. Halo 2 may have been a pioneer of console mp, but insane new games such as Battlefront are pushing the envelope. I know people who don’t give a damn about Star Wars, but are getting it because it look *new, *fresh, and *exciting. Halo 5 Combat Evolved edition with absolutely zero additions wouldn’t appeal to many people, BUT Halo 5 at-least retains the formula of weapon pickups, smaller symmetrical maps, etc while having the potential to look really cool in commercials, and attract players.

How can you judge them when we know nothing about Star Wars: Battlefront maybe this would have been better posted after Star Wars Celebration which starts tomarrow and lasts through the weekend

It’s just to see peoples opinions based on what they know about each game. Judging from past battlefronts, Halo 5 definitely takes the cake in the campaign department. Battlefront campaign missions take place in the exact same maps as mp.

I can’t say yet. I haven’t seen any gameplay for Battlefront 3, and Halo 5 has no campaign gameplay as of yet. I’ll judge by E3.

I won’t be able to judge until Friday, but considering Battlefront is more nostalgic to me than Halo (I played Battlefront when I was 9/10 instead of Halo because I didn’t have an Xbox) so I may have to go with Battlefront. Only game I can even consider challenging Halo on my list of favorite games.

I refuse to get excited for Battlefront III since EA are publishing it. I don’t trust them. Not even a tiny bit.

Same way I feel about 343 and ~ Microsoft Studios

Dang it I can’t choose! Two of my favorite franchises. I just remembered Battlefront though, definitely will be something I want to get though. The 1st and 2nd Battlefront along with Republic Commando were my childhood. The campaigns were never that great but (except for Republic Commando, which the MP was basically Halo that looked like Star Wars) the multiplayer and instant action were the freaking best. Though Battlefront 3 may not be my favorite since apparently EA won’t be doing the Clone Wars era on release.

I played Battlefront 2 and i found the lack of a real campaign weird. I mean, it has some kind of gamemode that allows you to fight for different planets, and three campaign like modes where you get to play just one class and have to complete some objectives in the middle of a battle. I prefered creating my own lists of matches and building a “campaign” on my own.

I had that conversation a few days ago…nothing will come out of it…
But before 343-defence-force comes into play claiming EA is way more evil and 343 is an -Yoinking!- angel because EA game

> B. Have an ending so bad that there is a patch for it
> C. Riddled with microtransactions

and 343 “fixed” MCC I would like to bring back my post:

> Looking at the latest releases EA is one of the better publishers…Ubisoft screws up a lot of stuff latley, but the king of broken games still is the MCC, nothing to whitewash there! And i don’t care how many games are part of the collection, if I spent 60$/70€ on something I expect it to work, minor bugs are tolerable but MCC was a laughable release and its MS/343’s responsibility to notice this BEFORE release

> Sure those are oppinons but it’s quite stupid that you say this oppinoins are invalid arguments but you choose oppinoins like an ending that you didn’t like or microtransactions (wich I would consider on par with H4’s broken gameplay) as an argument yourself…
> So looking at major releases (H4, MCC) 343 has a 100% failure rate atm…

Here’s the difference between EA and 343i. MS forces the release of one of the most technologically complex games on the market out before it is ready and 343i then works tirelessly to bring it up to snuff, as well as providing a free campaign, a month of Live and a free map. They also gave us a free Forge space a year or so ago for Halo 4. MCC is now fixed, barring some smaller bugs.

EA, on the other hand, actively insults its fanbase by releasing games objectively worse than the previous one in every single conceivable way with provably fewer features and literally no new mechanics (Sims 4) and then expects the audience to continue purchasing via microstransactions, paid day one DLC, EA access/Origin, and so one, all so we can get the full game we pay $60 dollars for already.

Have you noticed the difference yet? When MS releases a broken game, 343i fixes it and gives out free content as compensation, despite said game being extremely complex; when EA releases a broken game, it doesn’t have the excuse of being a complex game; they fix it, apologize, then screw you over again by asking you to buy the rest of the game you already bought and paid for, and was broken anyway. One of them gives us free stuff. One of them expects us to spend more money. Out of those two, one of them released a major AAA game that was broken for over a year, while the other released a technologically more complex game that was broken for a few months at most, depending on who you ask. Guess which one released the year long broken game? EA and Battlefield 4.

So to claim that 343i and MS is somehow worse than EA is objectively wrong, and is in fact rather damaging for the game industry to allow personal biases get in the way of the actual problem.

Then of course you have the fact that EA treats its employees like crap and they have a very childish obsession over Battlefield; EA were the ones who started up this whole “Battlefield vs CoD” bull that we see fanboys screaming over when EA was actively smearing CoD and Activision during BF3 and 4’s lead up. and MS/343i are worse than that? Please.

Kit lets out a heavy sigh

What a 343i drone.

.

BTW Rob, I agree 100%, the above is a joke ^~^! But remember where you’re at, logic no work here.

well at least you put some thought into that response, if you want a real answer/conversation I will give you one as soon as I’m at home again. but try to be honest, if this is just about praising 343 I won’t bother putting time into this…

I’m also worried that since DICE is making it, Battlefront III is going to look like Star Wars, but feel like Battlefield 4.5.

Side note: If there’s weapon customization, I’m freaking done.

Why? Weapon customization would be welcoming. Being able to customize your classes weapon. Now armor customization, if that’s not in it I’m gonna freak.

People are just purists.

they wont be better then either because they are vastly different games battlefront will probably be more like star wars battlefield given its developers and it being a fps opposed to what it should been (Third Person Shooter) it will come down to personal taste because halo is heading towards arena shooter and battlefront is large scale battlegrounds.

Battlefront is going to be a big competitor.

No campaignin battlefront thus no purchase

This. I was worried when it was EA/DICE. I became more worried with BF4, with Hardline my heart sank. No campaign, no Galactic Conquest, no space battles, only 8 maps? My heart stopped. Battlefront will be a depressing sequel to the game of my childhood. Just because it is Star Wars, it will sell amazingly which annoys me.
