HALO 5 vs Destiny

Destiny is a gem covered up by internal affairs and cash grabbing, it has great potential. But in the end Halo will always be on top for me because of balanced Multiplayer, has a actual campaign, and lore that intrigued me to learn more.

Destiny first:
Pros-

  • Great guns and shooting mechanics. - Interesting story (only if you read the grimore cards) - Social and interactive - Addictive and well you gotta get that loot! - Difficult PvE challenges (raids)Cons-

  • Ingame story is 3/10 and though The Taken King was an improvement it was no where close to Halo - PvP and PvE weapon balancing…if you play destiny you know what I am talking about (cough cough shotguns, cough cough Titan hammers) - There is a lot of grinding - Did I mention how much grinding there is? - I told you about grinding right? - No custom matches/custom games/ world design/ or theater mode - No Esports
    Halo:

Pros-

  • Great story - Books, comics, movies and more to have outside of the game - PvP balance - PvE balance - Custom matches/custom games/ world design/ and theater mode - Esports - Balanced PvP maps, spanning from CQC to cross map combat. - Well Buck is in Halo 5 bonus points for that. - Req packs do not require a lot of grind and you get a lot from just one pack - Getting a Req pack is not based on RNG (however what is inside the Req pack is) Cons-

  • Slightly less addictive - Less weapons and armor - No raid like endgame PvE activities - Less weapon perk customization (which probably made Warzone balancing easier for the devs)Conclusion:
    Halo > Destiny
Halo is a better choice then destiny but not by much, I highly recommend both and with these two games you are set for the most epic Sci-Fi adventure yet. Destiny is a great game and even though I think it isn’t quite as good as Halo does not mean I think it is a bad game I give both games a score between 9.0/10 - 9.7/10

Destiny has that Rpg feel but what was a put of for me was the story was all over the place, but the halo campaign’s in the past has always been very well put together

H5, better story, actually has cutscenes

Definitely Halo a better story and multiplayer based on skill rather than OP weaponry.

Halo 5 master race.

So far Ive seen mostly non-biased opinions on both games and I agree with all of you. This is why I thought it was okay to post this thread on the Halo Forums because both games have something to do with the Halo Franchise. They are connected one way or another. Plus besides, I’m sure not everyone on Halo Forums only plays Halo lol

I feel like Halo 5’s Multiplayer will be better than Destiny’s. Hope to see on the 27th!

I am a Destiny day 1 player and in a Destiny day 1 clan it’s a great game, however that being said it;s very grindy, you have to raid to reach top lv’s and PVP balance is all over the place.
I’m looking forward to Halo 5 as well as fallout 4

Destiny’s multiplayer is all about shotguns and your power ups. Its noob friendly.

Gotta say Halo. Destiny is fun and all, but it doesn’t have Sergeant Johnson

i haven’t played Destiny yet & now that halo cometh not likely to for some time.

Great post I agree completely

Yea, that’ll be tough. I wonder if 343i will consider patching in an “I win” button after the initial release of Halo, or maybe even a custom Halo 5 controller with an actual physical dedicated “I win” button for a more streamlined approach to “I winning”.

I’ll just go ahead and play both. I’m sure I’ll enjoy Halo’s single-player campaign and PvP over Destiny’s, but Destiny still has a slight hold over me for cooperative content.

Halo is always a different outcome of multiplayer and destiny is just doing the same thing over and over.

Destiny died for me, it was fun at first but too repetitive

I liked the idea of Destiny, and gave it a fair chance. Halo is superior. Maybe I’ll try Destiny again in the future, but perhaps not. It had great gameplay, but milked you for the expansions and didn’t deliver on expectations.

Dear OP, because you’re at waypoint there will be bias from many people here.

  • Destiny is ok, but not comparable to Halo. I liked some aspects of it but they really seem to keep making less and less content and releasing it for more money, after a while it does become really repetitive and in order to stay on the bubble for ANY endgame content you have to grind like crazy.
  • Halo is more competitive, and has a better storyline, universe, etc. Not to say that 343 didn’t fail much of the hardcore “Bungie” fanbase.
