HALO 5 vs Destiny

Destiny had great ideas and everything, but Bungie handled them very poorly.

  • The loot system would’ve been good, if it wasn’t based on a RNG but instead on your skill in-game. - Raids would’ve been better, if they had matchmaking, because not everyone has 6 friends to play with. - Weapons could’ve been better, if Thorn or Shotguns didn’t dominate the game before TTK. - Iron Banner could’ve been better, if it had equal starts and didn’t have level-advantagesSaved the best for last…

DLC. By the end of the 1st anniversary of Destiny’s launch, they have released 3 DLCs (The Dark Below, House of Wolves, and The Taken King) I bought the game for $60 for a campaign of major plot-holes, Dinkle-bot (Now known as Nolan-bot) and multiplayer which was seriously flawed with weapon balancing issues. Instead of fixing those said weapon issues, they release DLC #1- The Dark Below.

Not only did it not fix the weapons, it made them worse. Guns like Word of Crota and Crota’s Hunger came along and helped dominate the Crucible. Then, we get to Expansion numero 2, House of Wolves

House of Wolves brought even more overpowered guns to the mix, easily overpowering any standard game weapon or TDB weapon. Essentially making the game a Pay-to-Win

Then The Taken King comes along with the Destiny 2.0 update, which FINALLY addresses the weapon balancing issues (This is about 9 months after the last weapon-tuning patch was pushed) Apparently, if you didn’t buy The Taken King, you can no longer-

  • Restricted to 2 (Not exactly sure) Crucible playlists - Can’t upgrade your character past light-level 34 - Can’t get TKK weapons and armor - Can’t obtain Legendary Marks, which are used by many vendors nowAnd when you go onto the Destiny forums to complain about not getting the game you used to have, you get told that “TKK is a expansion pack.” I don’t give a -Yoink- about an “expansion” pack, I bought the full game, I should get the full game, and not be forced to spend another $60 for what I got in the first place!

Rant over.

TL;DR- Halo over Destiny

Halo is always going to be the top of my game list but Destiny is a great game too.

Halo has a story you can immerse yourself in Destiny just repeats and repeats and repeats

all i know is im done with destiny for a while when halo 5 comes out

I really love both games but Halo is a clear winner. You don’t have to wait for certain days of the week to progress.

Halo for sure.

Halo over Destiny for me.

I like Destiny, but I also like custom matches. There are things that Destiny does not do for the casual / competitive player; but Halo does… and does it well.

I liked Destiny but wasn’t willing to pay for the dlc as I thought it cost too much while plenty of friends say I’m missing out but the game had too much grinding for me don’t get me wrong though I had some great times playing it with friends just doesn’t stand the test of time for me. Halo has the awesome story and the universe that’s been built from it can’t be beaten in my opinion

I would rather play Halo because in every Halo the story is becoming more intoxicating.

Halo 5

Destiny definitely has a different audience, but halo has a more active community in a sense that there are more clans doing stuff rather than grinding for a gun hours on end. (Plus it has a decent story :P)

> I want people’s opinions on both, this is not meant to be a WarZone. But just a friendly discussion, because I’m curious if people would rather play Destiny than Halo or vice versa and why.
> Me, I would rather play Halo than Destiny because Halo has so much more when it comes to story and overall gameplay. But Destiny’s gameplay is wicked fun but sadly repetitive… what do you think?

Destiny is extremely repetitive, not to say that Halo doesn’t have its mind numbingly repetitive campaign segments. I’m looking at you Halo:CE. Destiny got stale very fast due to lack of content. The story mode lasted only a few short and incredibly easy levels, and the story itself wasn’t interesting at all. I mean look at it this way, you know you’re doing something wrong when peoples favorite characters are the ones that sell weapons and equipment to them in game. That’s like going to see a movie and the characters being so lame your favorite character is an extra.

I wasted 40 days of game time on destiny, it has been destroyed. Bungie made a great game franchise “Halo” but they could not top themselves with such a mediocre game “Destiny”. It lacked story depth and gripping cinematic’s which were seen in the Halo games, I admit Destiny was a GREAT game at first i loved nearly everything about the game expect the story. I played for hours everyday and had a lot more experience then most people on the game. However this did not cover up the fact that Bungie could not deliver the game of the year they were suppose to. I love Bungie as a game company and they have made my childhood brighter, but i think Halo is a far better game and the fact that Bungie is developing Destiny 2 already is a farce. They should focus on reviving the original Destiny and i may consider returning to play it.
Thanks for reading!

> Destiny has good gameplay the idea of raids and everything else was cool just hated how you were pretty much forced to play everyday to get the good stuff, and Halos the best.

Exactly, and after TTK the weapons, the missions, the gear, almost anything is ridicolous … After the second expansión i left the game, …

I like both but ill probs mainly play halo

Halo definitely has the upper hand in story telling, and I think some of the new multiplayer playlists will definitely make it more fun than repeating missions in Destiny.

I would play Halo more than Destiny mainly because I feel Halo is more of an attractive feel to it when playing. What I mean is when I played Destiny, which sits alone in my digital games list never to be heard from again, it had bad story development and the strike was way to repetitive since it was the same missions over and over again, and finally the multiplayer had too many people use shotguns, handguns, or pulse rifles, which is way too OP. my own opinion Halo seems more balanced in multiplayer and practically has better story development including good character depth. So I say Halo for me lol

It was Buniges falut partly, but don’t forget how Activision butchered it before release.

Halo will always win it has intense gameplay and you really get into the story, no argument.

To tell the truth they both are great games. But halo wins in my choice.
