HALO 5 vs Destiny

Let’s look at both of them.

Destiny:
Taken King is the Highest Rated FPS of Next Gen
Only FPS Shooter with a 90 metacritic rating (Xbox one). Also there are only 4 xbox one gamers with a 90 or higher so its quite impressive for Taken King.
Many consider Destiny to be the successor to Halo 1-3 & Reach with Bungie creating it.
Halo 3: ODST gameplay even advertised a Destiny game and had the destiny symbol in the game.
Gameplay: Basically you keep everything the original Halos had and had an entire new element (completely revolutionized the game again).
Love the weapons, the aiming and the scopes.
A lot of fixes/improvements & expansions have been made.
Love the campaign storyline.
A lot of expanded material, etc.

Halo 5:
Basically tweaks Halo 3 or the Reach game play. More evolutionary.
Breakout is a fun concept and warzone is new.
Can obtain the same multiplayer experience in Destiny.
85 Metacritic rating is respectable but the lowest in the series.
If they fix the aiming/scopes it could be a solid multiplayer but it needs work.
I’m not a huge fan of the campaign starring Locke but making Cortana the protagonist was genius (Cortana & MC is the way to go).
Destiny had a year to fix itself and obtain the 90+ rating in Taken King but Halo 5 still has time to work out the bugs.
Missing maps, etc.

Overall, I give it to Destiny right now. Halo 5 has potential but it needs work. Look at MCC (started horrible but ended up amazing). They have time to fix it but its really a different experience. Ones an evolution (sort of how the COD games evolve) and the other is revolutionary.

I like destiny and year 2 has been a huge improvement on year 1, but as someone who has a young family I do not have the time needed anymore for all the grinding involved. I have not touched destiny since H5 came out as I find this game to be a constant joy to play, and never feel like I am making myself play just to unlock something.

> Me, I would rather play Halo than Destiny because Halo has so much more when it comes to story and overall gameplay. But Destiny’s gameplay is wicked fun but sadly repetitive… what do you think?

I like them both…but Destiny was way too addicting and too much of a grind. I had to walk away when the taken king dropped.

I tried Destiny, and it simply did not jive with me.

THANK YOU. I agree 100%. Destiny demands WAY too much time. Especially when you are hopping into raids 3-6 times a week. Plus the nightfalls…plus the heroic…plus the daily story…plus the daily bounties…you get the drift…

OH And THEN there is trials of osiris now!

there is more to do in Destiny and the level of persistence is very cool. Halo has a more traditional multiplayer so it really depends on what you want.
Also it is not easy to play Destiny without a good group of friends playing along side you

Destiny is Junk… so that was easy.

Bought all the expansions, loved the gameplay… Haven’t picked it up since October 25th!
Halo’s always been my favorite, at least since MechWarrior was allowed to die!.

I can play halo longer because it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not

Destiny was my shooter fix until Halo 5 dropped. Not much of a COD or BOF player so I stuck it out with Destiny since the shooting mechanics were somewhat familiar. After playing the H5 beta though, I knew my time with Destiny was up Oct. 27th 2015.

I would rather play Destiny… but I’ll likely never play Destiny again. It simply isn’t the game that I wanted it to be.

I wanted a Skyrim-In-Space game. That is not what Destiny was. The shooting was great, the best I’ve ever played… but there is nothing to the game, not for me at least.

Of course, I’m not going to play Halo either. Not until I can buy it used. I’m not paying full price for a game with no split screen and what sounds like a waste of a campaign.

I’ve played both and personally I’m more of a Halo guy

I’ve been a Halo player since 2001 and I’ve never played Destiny. That said, I’m more willing to try Destiny than I am willing to try Halo 5. Halo 5 has spit in the face of its roots with the sprinting and sped up gameplay whereas Destiny is the first of its name. I don’t know exactly how fast paced it is, but if it’s as fast as Halo 5, that’s ok because that is how it is establishing its franchise.

I played Destiny for a few weeks before Halo 5 came out. Found it quite a shallow experience and a very poor RPG. I know it’s not a pure RPG but it’s just stretched so thin (Like LOTR: Battle of Five Armies).

Halo all the way since Bungie died when they shook hands with the Dark Lord (Activation)

HALO 5, destiny is good and all. Buuuuuuuut, it ripped off halo. And NO STORY," Yeah you could tell me more" wh- really, it was LAST MINUTE. The taken king does not fix this. Halo 5 has some complex story. And not enough fire power(More Weapons…) Buuuut. More weapons are coming in updates. WITH forge. And warzone is AMAZING. SOOOOOOO Halo 5.

Multiplayer-wise: Destiny
PvP-wise: Halo

You mean “good”? 0.o

Halo is my roots destiny is a great game. I feel as though I get less bored with destiny it’s a little more involved with raids, quests and what not. Halo is pretty stock unless your into forge…
