Halo came out when I was a kid and is the base of my gaming life, much in the same way Mario or Zelda are for many, for that reason I don’t think any other game can fill its spot. Even if it is a game made by Halo’s makers.
In Terms of gunplay\gameplay - Destiny smashes Halo in every way possible…
Halo has always been very slow and sluggish but after playing the beta for 5, i have a little more hope that this one will deliver when it comes to MP for my personal taste. Halo has always been about the story anyway and the fact its 4 player co-op makes me a little moist tbh.
Will i clock up as many hours on Halo as i have on Destiny? Doubtful…
I think I will just continue to play both. I love Destiny and PvE and hope the Halo 5 Single Player Campaign will be long.
But I will have to test the new warzones to decide.
If Destiny had a competitive PvP base in which people were forced to use standard weapons however still pick a class it would be worth playing.
The Raids on Destiny are good fun but too repetitive to really get any life out of. Its like you grind a raid for 3 months in prep for the new one, which takes about a day to complete, and 2 weeks to get the new gear, which you only use to grind for the next raid.
Halo is both for the skilled players who like the competitive edge to it, and for the people who are just looking to doss around and have a bit of a laugh.
Destiny is more for players with little skill who can still feel like they are achieving something (If you struggle at Destiny, you have no business owning a console)
I feel like the comparison is unfair. First, people won’t stop playing destiny if they’re on the PS4. Additionally the two are different enough to scratch different itches. So I dont think there’s a need to pit them against each other.
Destiny had no story but 1 mission Halo 5 is as much as the whole story in Destiny!!!
destiny was ok but now The King is back.
Different games, I don’t think a comparison is possible.
The only thing we can compare is the multiplayer competitive experience and well: Destiny skill-gap is different compared to Halo.
In Halo you feel the difference between an average and and average-high skill player, in Destiny you can’t really feel this difference. Halo is more skill-based than Destiny in my opinion, so that’s why I prefer Halo pvp over Destiny’s one.
Still with Destiny you can experience something different like raids, a mmo-ish character customization with drops, power level and stuff.
Halo 5 REQ Packs did a wonderful job in my opinion, giving H5 that “looty-touch” to encourage you to play to get new stuff.
Balanced stuff, I would say.
Honestly love both but would take a betted story for destiny any day of the week
I like Destiny for entirely different reason. 6 man raids with unique and challenging mechanics are simply not offered in Halo. On the other hand, Halo has a story which I love and am very invested in. I also do not care for Destiny’s PVP and frankly any Halo game beats Crucible IMO. Halo has no grinding to earn RNG dice rolls for gear upgrades. I like 'em both for beautiful worlds, smooth gunplay, and rewarding headshots.
Before I post: I don’t mean to hate, and this is purely my opinion.
Halo 5 has a building story, and Destiny at the moment is just a bland game with the taste of repetition and over priced D.L.C.
That’s final.
Eh i kinda like Pong the most. #Oldschool

ah I see what you did there … anyway I play both
Surely we can’t really answer that till weve all played Halo for a while. or at least a bit.
Also why not play both.
Destiny was OK as a tech demo but little more than that. The vanilla version of the game had next to no story, empty and barren worlds and average PVP. I hear TTK is a big improvement but I’m not forking out more money on what the game should have been at launch.
Not played Destiny yet worth a bash?
Halo 5 hands down
of course Halo. Better story and gameplay than Destiny. Destiny is fun, but not as good as Halo.
Destiny’s PvE has so much more to offer, now multiplayer i hope Halo better with its 14 years of practice

> Me, I would rather play Halo than Destiny because Halo has so much more when it comes to story and overall gameplay. But Destiny’s gameplay is wicked fun but sadly repetitive… what do you think?
I’m favoring Halo over Destiny. Destiny’s single player game is a different experience. It’s a great gun rpg like Borderlands. It’s multiplayer is equipment based instead of skill based. Halo is the opposite. Halo is a chess match where everything has a counter-move.
I am tired of destiny where one hit super kills, combined with sniper rifles with amazing aim assist coddle the player. I want to go back to a skill-based game
