There is a HUGEEEE difference between Destiny and Halo…they’re technically two different genres! You’re comparing a dump truck with a Lamborghini. Two different things with different uses/functions.
IMO though, I’d side with Halo over anything any day #bias
Destiny’s “storyline” is boring.
Mp is not my cup of tea either.
I also can’t believe they were working on it since odst. Because of the non exsitent story and the game feels just like reach.
Immersive media is cool for some things, but only ever for a select percentage of people (like Destiny tries to do). Halo will be a better shooter gameplay-wise in terms of feel and balance, and it will also be more open to casual and competitive gamers, so yeah, Halo 5 better in the most important ways IMO
What killed me in Destiny is their sucky lag even in normal gamplay with friends in fireteam and also their lousy tech support. So far I have no problem with Halo connection. Hope Halo 5 delivers the same as their previous versions…
Halo is just a better game to me even though I have both. Halo is less grindy and more fun

> I want people’s opinions on both, this is not meant to be a WarZone. But just a friendly discussion, because I’m curious if people would rather play Destiny than Halo or vice versa and why.
Since 2001 I have mainly played Halo for the story. Halo has a fantastic story and lore, while Destiny has a fantastic lore (although it seems that a story is starting to emerge there).
I play both games for different reasons; Destiny for it’s multiplayer features and the character progression, where you get to take your own character and gear in all activities as well as its really cool lore (and story, that is just now starting to emerge). I play Halo for the incredible story, characters and lore.
I will play the Halo 5 campaign several times, and I will play some Halo multiplayer from time to time. But I think Destiny will keep me hooked longer than Halo 5 because of its sense of character progression, RPG features and open world.
Needless to say I am a fan of both franchises, and will play both a lot.
I loved Destiny for a while but got to fed up with it, and the RNG was -Yoink-, I played for like 1000 hours plus and didn’t get a gjallarhorn.
I didn’t really care but it was a little bit frustrating when newcomers where flashing their gjallarhorn…
I later became an admin in the biggest Swedish Destiny clan but in exchange I had to be home directly after work ( no delays allowed because they started to whine then )
It worked for a while but in the long run it fellt like having a second job without any pay…
So I got pretty fed up and I asked myself, should I really betray Halo for this -Yoink-, and I answered to myself: Hell no, I’ve been playing halo sinse day one I can’t abandon master chief for a random character that has no background stories at all…
I played Destiny before TTK dlc and I only had 1 friend who had Destiny, so we couldn’t play the Raids (we didn’t feel like joining a clan). I enjoyed Destiny, though it was rather short.
Halo was a longer campaign and is more fun to play.
simply because i like halo more than destiny…there are many reasons why halo is better than destiny for me, so these are the most counting:
-story
-balanced multiplayer
-community (most of them)
Halo all the way, I love everything about halo. Destiny felt, dull, to say the least.
Destiny is an immaculate game with true MMO dynamics and awesome, if repetitive gameplay.
It’s apples and oranges really. You can’t compare the two fairly without short-cutting them both. HALO has lineage, a magnificent story with a token Hero all fans relate to and enjoy playing as.
Destiny doesn’t have that. It’s story links into the MP, which makes it broader and thus less focused. This is alright for an MMO.
I like both, don’t kill me D:
I was only playing Destiny to fill the space between Halo releases
I absolutely love Destiny, but Halo will always have my heart!
There aren´t the same type of games, one is a semi-MMORPG and Halo is 100% shooter…
I will still be playing destiny at least popping on for daily or weekly resets, but the grind for loot has to stop at some point or you start going crazy. I will be playing a lot of halo5 and will still be playing mcc for years to come.
Destiny lost me after it turned out I’d have to buy the game once a year for dlc… Halo for the hours of coop fun and I can see myself getting into warzone and forge too. I love the mixed media approach to halo’s universe and its something that Bungie couldn’t replicate with destiny.
I played Destiny all the way to right before the taken king I’ve played and beat all the halo story’s just starting to put more time into the multi side though but I would rather play Halo because when u compare the two halo gives us an awesome story in full form with the original game and a great multi side no hidden fees dlc packs to complete the story or gutted game content with Destiny it has good qualitys too I’m not going to hate good create section player interaction gameplay but u play a few hours the story’s over and u have repeat grind just to level up or create ur player further and the fact tht to find out what happens next it’s another fee is not something Im willing to go along with now or in the future especially with the games lineups heating up
Destiny just became too much of a grind for me and it makes me sad that Bungie didn’t realise that before it was released.
They are both good for different reasons.
