HALO 5 vs Destiny

story - halo
co op (with not playing halo 5) - destiny
PvP - halo
activities - destiny
visuals (with not playing halo 5) - destiny

all I could think of

Yesterday I was a bit angry when I wrote about Destiny but I think I can catch the concept now.
Destiny is like Halo 4 Spartan Ops minus the cutscenes, you pay 60$ for the first half of the season and you can only play Infinity slayer besides that.

I prefer Halo because I am more interested in the story it provides and also the PVP in halo has always been more appealing to me. However I will say that the chance of getting sick loot from a boss does tempt to return now and again.

I would gladly play both, but only one at a time. and that is why I beat Destiny and pretty much everything I could on it, except hard mode raid that just came out… but i hear its basically the same and just getting a higher light level isnt going to get me anywhere… so I would rather play halo atm because there is a competitive edge to it and tournaments and instead of randomness and noobish things like supers and the overall style of game-play that kids have evolved on Destiny, there is real skill matches and a “i need to win this match” feel to the games.

I play both. Destiny: The Taken King is better then Vanilla Destiny, but not as good as Halo 5

Destiny Pros. Wicked addictive gameplay, raids. Ok lore,
Cons. No story, DLC, not fair MP.

Halo Pros. Addictive gameplay, epic story/lore, replayability, customization, custom games, even starts
Cons. 50% of the community sucks. IMO

halo obviously on halo forums

I bought Destiny:Taken King like a silly head just about a week ago. I really enjoy its mix of MMO w/ Shooter feel. I’ve progressed pretty quickly but I know I should feel bad because I’m very likely not going to be picking it back up for a while after H5 drops. Oh well lol

Until we see Destiny reach the longevity of Halo it’s hard to make an accurate comparison. Destiny truly does have a lot of potential and it’s nice to see that they listen to their fans and continue to improve the game.

Destiny is cool, but I always have to take long breaks from the game for it to seem fun again. I’ve always been a huge halo fan in general, but the main difference is I can pick up halo a couple of hours a day and pretty much enjoy it. My main problem now is I see all this free content dropping with halo 5 guardians and I almost feel robbed by destiny. For destiny to be fun it has to have content and it just seems to take forever to get that content.

This two games is a very different. Halo have rich story, multiple pvp maps and modes, hard cord player’s .Destiny have a nice graphic, every day story missions and bounties to complete. Pvp is a fun with three classes every of them with three unique super to choose.
But shortly -Halo, long time story that make you to wish to complete.Matchmaking is a for skilled players.
Destiny - lag of story, lot of farming (every day for hours) for crapy prizes.More of the time you need a fire team and this is the place where the real funn begin. Pvp- easier for beginners, lots of choices for supers, classes. But you will be faced with lag-switchers,super -glitches especially when some rear event become ( ironbanner, trials of osiris).
So I played both and in Destiny I have a fun but I loose to many nerves. When I play Halo I chill, feel comfort and I feel the storie.
This is entirely my opinion

I’ve played Destiny without a Gold subscription and found it to be fun to a point but very repetitive. Now, not only have I purchased a Gold subscription, but I’ve purchased the Xbox One just so I can play Halo 5!

Not even comparable. I stopped Destiny after thez second extension, not because it was bad, but because we always had to pay more to play.

It was a good game, but too expensive overall. Halo is a great game, can’t even compare ^^

L@mouf !!!

Plus, I feel that I shouldn’t have to keep purchasing the new add ons every so often just to stay up to date with the game.

Halo is intentionally a closed world, while Destiny lies about being fully open world.

The game destiny is named after a -Yoink!-.

Destiny was good for only multiplayer, the story side was crap and I was fed up shooting the same AI bots all the time.

Having played Destiny year 1 to death I have to say I choose Halo, (surprise surprise eh Waypoint?).
Destiny feels super slick and the gunplay is very satisfying. That said, the story does not do the setting justice and frankly, few of the characters have any…well…character. I understand that the nature of the game is repetitive and I have no problem with that. I am no stranger to the grind. But a game cannot survive just because the controls feel good. Not to me anyway.

I searched all of the lore for Destiny, delved into the Grimoire, debated on the forums and for the most part that lore was decent and intriguing. Yet it’s as though the game has an entirely different lore and writing (before you say so, I know about the whole story scandal).

Halo, on the other hand, has characters like Buck, Cortana, Gravemind, Guilty, Grey Team, Lord Hood, Halsey, the AIs of Harvest as well as SO many others!

As long as Destiny maintains an ‘add-on and remove’ development it will never create such a rich and in depth 'Verse as Halo’s. And to me, it’s all about the stories.

TL;DR Halo because fleshed out stories give me something to think about.

Destiny is a grind based game locked at 30fps which makes multiplayer annoying beside an ultra unbalanced titan super and shotguns. I like Destiny stuff but It could repetitive.

I tried Halo 5 beta its multiplayer is even more fun than COD, here’s where Halo beat Destiny easily . Campaign I bet Halo 5 has another win here, but like I said Destiny is a grind game that force people to play it again and over again. By the end Halo 5 is much better game but Destiny will be survive

Destiny is starting to get good just now, but that’s after making everyone pay $135 with all this f***ing expansions. And still the story is lackluster and multiplayer PvP sucks.

Bungie is dead to me, they fell into the arms of Activision.

Halo 5 sure has its flaws (lack of Forge & BTB at launch, the addition of microtransactions, the removal of split-screen and more) but I know it’ll be WAY better than Destiny, easily.

Loved to play Destiny in the beginning but later started to feel like Bungie doesn’t give a damn about user experience. And of course, you are locked out of content you already have if you don’t buy all the dlcs. Hopefully they feel at least a little bad about that.

I don’t really like to compare these two games, but I think the gunplay is one of the key elements that’s more interesting in Halo. And the story, of course.
