HALO 5 vs Destiny

Well typed! Prior to the taken king, I liked how destiny’s armor system correlated, some what, to its open world play. I really loved the open world play. 343 should tie #HW2 into halo 5 by allowing us to travel through out the galaxy and Contribute to a battle commander(s) directives.

I like them both EQUALLY!

I always loved Halo growing up and with Halo 5 around the corner I can barely contain my excitement. Halo in my opinion has always had a great campaign along with a fun multiplayer environment. I also enjoy playing Destiny, and over the year I have spent many hours grinding to become the most powerful and awesome looking guardian the universe has ever seen post the Golden Age. I simply enjoy all aspects of the Destiny universe even though the lack of story and character development was under par for the first year. I believe Destiny is going to grow and get better in the years to come and I plan on staying on for that ride until the end. As far as Halo is concerned, it will always hold a special place in my heart and I can not wait to play it with friends and family members for a whole new adventure!

Bungie tried to seal almost a million bucks form Martin O’Donnell. Something similar was going to happen to the writer so he left.

Both of those were complicated situations that were difficult for everyone involved, and both of those situations occurred strictly inside of Bungie. :

> You mean Luke Smith? He did no such thing. If you’re referring to the Eurogamer interview, he wasn’t bragging; he was being skeptical of the idea that a couple emotes would be considered a must-have item. The interview failed to convey his tone of voice.

With something complicated happening strictly inside the company I would believe who ever walks out of it any day (Martin and the writer) as opposed to the company.

I was involved in something “complicated” inside of a company and I walked away because it wasn’t fair at all. Do you know what the company would say? That it was fine and I just left.

I honestly don’t believe that people can be so nieve to trust corporations with anything, much less to be honest. They will do what ever makes them the most money PERIOD.

I think that’s a good idea as well, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I’ll end up playing both. They’re both very different games and scratch different itches. I see myself playing H5 a bit more competitively though because there’s more incentive. Ranks, REQ pack collecting, etc. As far as PVE goes, Destiny wins hands down. I just don’t see myself playing the Halo campaign over and over and over again, but I will go into Destiny and play the raid, or special events, or whatever secret missions people end up decoding. Crucible is still fun just because its so different compared to Halo’s same starts. Both are great, but different.

Right now though I’m completely on the Halo train and my time in Destiny will probably slow down. Then after a few months it’ll be a continuous flip flop between the two. These two games combined hit so many levels of satisfaction for me it’s going to be hard to even think about buying another game for the next year.

For me Halo win no matter what the other game is .
But that’s just me

As a day 1 Destiny player I was deeply disappointed with a lot of their decisions and content as well as the majority of the PVP.
Day 1 players got crappy icons, not even close to being the best looking. Having been away for work when the special event skin for the sparrow was done I missed out on that which is far better IMO than the founders icon.
I have been saying that it needs a HC pvp mode without supers or radar and basic weapons for a long time and I still think that would make it a lot more fun.
A lot of the “new strikes” are just old areas reversed with different enemies which really ticked me off and the weapon balance is quite frankly utter trash.
The lack of PUG function after all this time is pretty disgusting considering how many activities require 3 to 6 players and leaving it to 3rd party sites is just lazy on Bungie and Activisions part. This is what we expect from Activision but Bungie used to really focus on the players. Sad to see how that has changed.
I will have to wait to play H5 before I can decide if I like it more (going overseas for a month and wont buy until I’m back), but I dont think its an extremely difficult target to beat.
That said, Destiny has held my attention for almost 1000 hours due to the awesome theme and the coop style of play, not just with friends you launch with but the randoms you run into while playing, and I have made many new friends while playing destiny, more than any other game.
Destiny gameplay is repetitive true, but its a shooter/morpg, what rpg doesn’t have repetitive gameplay? I think its a lot less repetitive than WOW, Diablo and FF etc whilst having so much more replay than any other shooters story, though System Shock 2 and Deus Ex were pretty close especially considering they were limited to single player for story, no other game has come close to CSS for PVP for me.
Fingers crossed for Halo 5 to be as awesome as it should be.

I love Destiny but the lack of content, I’ve done the King’s Fall raid and the hard mode doesn’t really bring anything new to the table but different colour armour, makes me want to step away from it at least until new content comes out. Halo 5 couldn’t have come at a better time for me and seeing all the fun people are having on streams this weekend really makes my decision to take a break an easy one.

Apples to oranges.

Req pack, req pack posting for a req pack

destiny’s gameplay is too repetitive for me I always prefer fast paced epic battle fps

Agreed but destiny is 10 years plans it is like playing halo’s story over and over and over but with reward random loot drop system which kept us playing destiny without the loot system Destiny wont survive without it but they do make it up for story by releasing Taken king but still didn’t make up for the Traveler’s story but learn few thing about the darkness.

i think I will play halo 5 for some time to see how it is but the story will be a new change from the how the story has been going from the past game so… I said that halo may be bigger in the story but muitplayer its in the air because a lot of people play destiny because of the past halo so… we will see how thing go.

I feel like destinys story is boring, the universe isn’t as fun as the halo universe and it’s just not a fun game, lore and gameplay wise.

bungie is the only reason I gave the game a chance and I thought it was a pile of yoink and a waste of my time I have a life and responsibilities I dont live in my parents basement I cant sit on a game for hours at a time day in and day out to get all the cool unlocks they wanted you to devote way too much time into it and the game was way to repetitive I played it for a couple of weeks now it just sits and collects dust and now there is a sequel wtf why do people buy into this yoink, so this is why I play halo instead and I thank you 343i for not letting halo die keep up the good work

This is a tough one, a really tough one

I prefer Halo. In my opinion it has a much better story to it. Destiny, while it plays very nicely, just seems like a console - MMO without the content most other MMO’s bring to the scene. Plus Destiny’s story just seems really shallow.

> I like Destiny better now. But i was a halo fan first so i will try h5. Honestly though, h5 looks alot like destiny the way its going. Dash? Ground and pound? GUARDIANS? LOL haha but seriously they are both decent. But neither have or will live up to the older gaming standards in my eyes.

not to be that guy, but destiny did have nearly the same enemies as halo. Fallen (elites), hive (flood), cabal (brutes or hunters), and now the taken (covenant). Actually the idea of the titan was taken from master chief and the ghost as Cortana. Plus the titans bubble started from halo and dash as well. If you’re saying that guardians is a word only destiny can say then I’m surprised marvel hasn’t claimed for copyright. I put many hours in destiny and enjoyed quite a bit of it, but you have to admit that alot of it was taken from halo and plenty of other projects before it.

they both have their up sides so I see your point of view.
