HALO 5 vs Destiny

I want people’s opinions on both, this is not meant to be a WarZone. But just a friendly discussion, because I’m curious if people would rather play Destiny than Halo or vice versa and why.

Me, I would rather play Halo than Destiny because Halo has so much more when it comes to story and overall gameplay. But Destiny’s gameplay is wicked fun but sadly repetitive… what do you think?

I would rather play Halo it has a story that is told in game, not on a card that you have to go onto a website/app to find.

Do you really think anyone here will answer anything other that Halo? These are the Halo forums.

This isn’t even a debate.
you posted on a halo forum, as well as the fact that halo beats destiny in almost every way.

Destiny has good gameplay the idea of raids and everything else was cool just hated how you were pretty much forced to play everyday to get the good stuff, and Halos the best.

I think Halo 5’s going to offer more replay value to me just because we’ll be able to create our own experiences once Forge drops. Content creation really does add a lot to a game’s longevity, and Destiny doesn’t have any content creation to speak of.

This, have a work now so…

I’d like to apologise in advance for my behaviour, but my inner self is getting fed up with this. The rest might be offensive…
Why Destiny is still a thing? One of the biggest flop in the gaming industry, that title is a cash grab nothing else.
Just because it’s made by Bungie? Sorry, that’s like when MGS fans will eat anything from Kojima even if he would place trash in their plate. Enthusiasm at a fanatical level.

Except population and sales ;D loool its ridiculous

I appreciate the responses and I know this is a Halo forum lol. I just figure a lot of Halo players jumped ship when it came to Destiny because Bungie made it. That’s why I thought it was okay to post this on this forum

To (kind of) use a quote of Cortana…

“I don’t know about you, but I like a little story with my game’s story.”

Seems a little harsh to me. Destiny’s been in the works since ODST and it’s obviously something that Bungie’s been passionate about. Almost from launch day, it was clear that there were major internal issues that disrupted the game’s development.

Personally I think destiny’s mp is just broken, too unbalanced and each patch only changes the op weapons for other ones

When I pay for a product I don’t care about how difficult it was to make. Especially when I’m getting an advertisement slapped into my face that says “500 million dollar budget”.
Bungie isn’t what it’s used to be, that’s for sure.

I didnt wait to get an xbox one for destiny i waited for H5 to make the move. Destiny seems like wprld of warcraft meets halo iy sounds good but just didnt catch my attention.

Have you seen what happened to the writer and Martin O’Donnell? Well if you haven’t Bungie ended up selling there soul to Activision and giving all power over how the game was ran to them. Bungie tried to seal almost a million bucks form Martin O’Donnell. Something similar was going to happen to the writer so he left. The more I look into it the less respect I have for Bunige. This is coming from a use to be Bunige fan boy and some one who pre-ordered Destiny. It’s really sad. Destiny could have been the greatest game in years to come.

Also Bungie made one of the greatest universes not just in gaming but across all medias, why didn’t they branch off keep a group making the standard Halo’s and make Destiny but set in the Halo universe.

I like Destiny better now. But i was a halo fan first so i will try h5. Honestly though, h5 looks alot like destiny the way its going. Dash? Ground and pound? GUARDIANS? LOL haha but seriously they are both decent. But neither have or will live up to the older gaming standards in my eyes.

I thought it was rather nice of him to say it that way. Lol it is obviously more than a cash grab, but as someone who put 800+ hours into the game I feel like I can honestly say it wasn’t much more than that. Too much of it was watered down and from the get go I really felt like every “mistake” being made was something that had already been done before. Every aspect of the game was shallow and unrewarding.

I really wanted to believe that bungie was going to knock it out of the park and if anyone cared about the consumer it was bungie. But after watching them trade one poor decision for another poor decision again and again, I couldn’t play the game any longer. And after watching management and Luke smith -Yoink- all over us as consumers, I no longer own the game or have it installed on my hd.

I’ve read about what happened from both official and unofficial sources, and I’m sorry, but none of what you just said is even slightly close to being accurate. Both of those were complicated situations that were difficult for everyone involved, and both of those situations occurred strictly inside of Bungie. :\

You mean Luke Smith? He did no such thing. If you’re referring to the Eurogamer interview, he wasn’t bragging; he was being skeptical of the idea that a couple emotes would be considered a must-have item. The interview failed to convey his tone of voice.
