Halo 5 Vs CoD on Twitch

343i… As the title states. If the viewer count on twitch is not enough of a wake up call for you, I don’t know what will. CoD is averaging well over 100,000 viewers at any given time on Twitch, and has been the highest viewed game over LoL. Now then, take a look where Halo 5 viewer count is at. Depending on if there are any Pros playing, It averages somewhere between a minuscule 1,400 to 5,000 viewers. I am sorry, but you designed a game that is not interesting to watch, nor fun to play. The game types are a joke, and the maps lack creativity, and feel like a 4 year old designed them. I am by no means saying to take ideas from CoD (which you already have) but simply take the time to produce a game that is fun, and interesting to watch. You have taken a GREAT franchise and ran it into the ground. Us OG Halo players have nothing to be proud of any more. We simply get a mediocre game. Please remember, If it’s not broke don’t fix it.

Which ideas come from Call of Duty exactly? If you’re referring to the thruster pack as a copy of Advanced Warfare then you are sadly mistaken because Halo 4 had the thruster pack before Advanced Warfare even started production.

You should go over to the CoD forums and tell them how impressed you are with their Twitch views! Think about it, if you go over there you can use your positive words instead of being a Negative Nancy.

People just hate on halo 5 constantly. Every halo game gets a bad rep because people just criticize it and persuade people to get other games

The constant hate is annoying, however, there are legitimate complaints being drowned out by the noise.

So a game that is on every console has more viewers than a game on 1 console.

Besides, CoD is CoD. it will probably always have more viewers as everyone knows what it is. It doesn’t matter if you follow video games or not, you know “that call of duty game”. Most of them will call a shooter Call of Duty even if that’s not it, because that’s the only name they know.

*Not saying that Halo 5 is flawless. Just that comparing views like that is more than likely always going to be more towards CoD.

Eh…doesn’t matter to me. Twitch views don’t affect my enjoyment of a game. I’m definitely having more fun with Halo 5 than I am with Black Ops 3.

CoD is on all platforms, Halo is only on the Xbox One. Obviously isn’t going to outsell or get more views than CoD when it has a larger target audience.

COD has a far larger media presence on Youtube and Twitch. Tmartn ~2.8 million subs. Halo Follower <400,000. This is across all media channels. Halo just isn’t that sought after.

Advanced Warfare started production around 2010. So… Lol.

But, here we go:
-ADS (Aim down sights)
-Sprint mechanics (Unlimited, but when you get shot, it deactivates)
-Linear campaign sequences
-Clamber
-Sprint + crouch = slide
-Kill indicators, which shows: Player (Gun used to kill) Player
-CSR (You level up and get experience points no matter how bad you do in a game)
-Weapon skins
-Map design

And that’s just off the top of my head. There are plenty other additions.
Whether it comes from Call of Duty or not, though, the thrusters are 90% the exact same mechanic as AW. Only difference is that you can’t double jump and there’s a small recharge time in Halo. That’s it.

I think halo 5 is amazing. im pretty sure cod is the mediocre game when comparing the 2. (so does every review site that reviewed both games)…its just brain dead casuals eat it up every year just like the same casuals eat up games like madden every year. They are mediocre games that release -Yoink- but have great advertisement and people that literally buy it because of name recognition.

Halo 4’s production began in 2009, and certain abilities like clamber was requested heavily. CSR I could play like garbage back on Reach and still rank up. Linear Campiagn, I don’t know if you played Reach or not but that campaign was pretty Linear. Weapon skins were in Halo 4, they just added more of them. Sprint mechanics in Halo 4 you could use unlimited sprint with mobility. ADS I wouldn’t really call it ADS because your firing doesn’t become more accurate than at hip level like in CoD. There are a few similarities but in actuality if you want to bring up that not what about titian fall?

Did any of the original 3 halo games have any of this? Didn’t think so.

This. Even Reach had Sprint as an Armor Ability. Meaning it wasn’t shoved in your face at every possible opportunity. You could opt out of it and use a different AA and there were games with no sprint at all.
Now it’s all sprint, then trying to fix sprint with a shield recharge mechanic that makes no sense. Maybe, just maybe, it doesn’t have a place in a Halo game? Hmmmmm.

There are to many factors that are involved in Twitch viewership. First, we would need to have demographic statistics on who the majority viewers are on Twitch. Second, Halo is an Xbox exclusive and it will always have much less viewer ship than multi-platform games. Third, people usually follow their favorite Twitch player, which always plays the new released game to acquire new viewers that enjoy that game. Finally, who cares what people are watching on Twitch, I certainly don’t. On TV, reality shows are usually the most viewed show, does that mean it’s the best show out there? Hell no.

How does that change any points? Reach came before 4, and was a Bungie game. But then again, this road has been traveled to death - it’s either stay stagnate or evolve, both guarantee nothing. Look at CoD.

Anyway, why do people have concern because the game isn’t “fun to watch”? It is a video game - part of the point of any game is lost when you aren’t playing to begin with. Otherwise it would be a show. It isn’t like other sports, where only the top pros out there can get the full experience. Games are meant to be played first, and then watch with less priority. Maybe the stream counts are lower because people are actually in game instead of drooling over someone else playing.

Why exactly is Twitch important anyway? Isn’t it basically just watching someone else play a game which if you like so much you could just be playing instead?

You do realize that a lottt of those views are from kids that have to wait till Christmas to play the game lol. The game is also multiplat. This thread hurts my head

And before that we had evade which works exactly the same.
