Please give your opinions on what vehicles you would like to see added to Halo 5 new or old and please give your opinions on what weapons abilities you think should be effective against vehicles.
For me personally I think the only way to destroy damage vehicles should be with power weapons and grenades. The plasma pistol should be able to stun vehicles but have no lock on ability to vehicles then you would have rockets, spartan laser and sniper which could kill damage vehicles maybe plasma launcher or grenade launcher if brought back. Other than these I don’t think you should be able to hurt vehicles with normal weapons only damage the pilots passengers of them thoughts?

I wholeheartedly agree.
There’s been a trend throughout the series of making vehicles weaker and more easily destructible.
Halo 2 introduced boarding.
Halo 3 introduced the EMP plasma pistol.
Halo Reach added the DMR, which could damage all vehicles and destroy them given enough ammo, and armour abilities.
Haven’t played Halo 4 so I can’t comment on the vehicle meta but I assume it would be even easier with loadouts, perks, and ordinance drops.

Oh definitely. Vehicles were practically made of paper given how everyone used loadouts containing Plasma pistols and Plasma grenades on vehicular maps in Halo 4. It really destroyed the Halo’s vehicles worse than Plasma pistol EMP, Spartan Lasers and Boarding ever could.
I’d like to see the new Kestrel in Halo 5, and the return of the Brute Chopper!
I don’t mind normal weapons being able to damage vehicles, as they would be able to in real life. For example, most plasma (even from a plasma pistol) is supposed to be able to melt through metal evetually.
I want me some FORERUNNER vehicles!!!
Played a game of Halo 3 last night on Standoff, and the vehicles there just felt better. They were significantly challenging to take down and when you finally did it felt really rewarding. I hope they bump the durability of the vehicles for H5.
A forerunner tank would be nice. There was one planned for Halo 2 but was cut.
I’d like the Falcon back as the UNSC air vehicle. However using engines like the hornets rather than rotors which looked odd in Halo.
Also this will be a very unpopular opinion: I’d like the driver of the Scorpion to have the machine gun and the gunner controlling the main cannon. I just feel this would make it more balanced compared to the Wraith.
A black warthog with a flamethrower, with a flame decal on the front.
In general I think being able to select any weapon for the warthog turret would be cool. Of course there would be some limitations.
Also let us have a first person option that the host can toggle for his maps and when the option is on default players can toggle the view of the hog by clicking the right stick (kind of like in battlefield)

A variation between the transport warthog and the trucks in Reach where Jorge could mount his gun on the back. A transport 'hog that you can mount the heavy weapon you are holding on to.

In BTB I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a swim ability, using the thrusters to stay afloat and not sink in the water with the heavy armor we have on.

Wasn’t Reach originally going to have a boat and a water level?
I want to see the Grizzly, just because but it, like other tanks, needs to have more durability than what we saw in H4. I should not be able to board a vehicle, especially a tank, and punch it to death with my bare hands. It’s kind of fun, but at the same time, it’s ridiculous and makes zero sense, even for super-soldiers of a Spartan’s caliber.
I was happy to hear that the Mongoose is getting guns now, but somehow I think a flamethrower or something would be better, just as a way to make it a bit different from the Ghost.
I’d like Slide to be a new way to destroy some vehicles; imagine sliding under a Warthog and placing a C4 charge or something on the undercarriage. A perfectly-timed slide can save you from being splattered and blow up your attacker.
Shoulder Charge being enough to send the small vehicles like Ghost and Geese flipping end over end for a short distance. Imagine a perfectly-timed shoulder charge flinging a Goose into an already-damaged tank and destroying it. Sounds pretty epic to me.
What about being able to use Thruster Pack while you’re on a Mongoose for a little extra air (assuming you don’t have a passenger behind you)?

I think being able to melee the tank is realistic for spartans, the guys are tanks with legs, and if they get that close to your tank you probably deserve it. Shoulder charge shouldn’t be able to counter a boosting ghost for the sake of balance. I do like the thruster pack boost Idea for the mongoose, and for the passenger thing they could make it so the passenger can only do it, encourage teamwork.

Apologies, wasn’t clear on the Charge vs small vehicles bit; no, I agree that head to head, Charge shouldn’t send them flipping; a Spartan by himself doesn’t have the mass to win that particular battle of two opposing forces, even factoring in Sprint. I’m talking about slamming into the side of the vehicle and sending it flipping.

Yeah, I agree with that then.
They are going to need a significant buff to keep up with all these abilities. All non-power weapons need a nerf against vehicles, especially precision weapons(including the sniper).
There is zero reason for the premiere anti-infantry weapon, the sniper, to also do absurd damage against vehicles. I don’t care if its an ‘anti-material’ rifle. That does not make it anti-armor or anti-air. I’m with the sniper shooting through glass windshields and canopies to kill the player inside, but absolutely demolishing a Banshee in 4 shots is terrible.
As far as the vehicle themselves go, we either need to go back to the Halo 3 system which is partially based on player shields, or vehicles need to regen health to a degree. If you pass a damage threshold you can only regen a portion of that health. For example if you take more than 1/3 of your total health(3/3), you can only regen 2/3s of your total health, then 1/3, then kaboom.
The chip system in Reach and Halo 4 were absolutely terrible. It turned vehicles into timed experiences where no matter how good you are, if the enemy shoots you enough you explode. This led to very campy gameplay when heavy vehicles were involved and lighter vehicles were often abandoned the moment they started smoking as they were little more than death traps.
On the abilities themselves, you should not be able to really affect any vehicles with anything other than vehicle boarding, ground pounds should splatter the player on moving vehicles and bounce harmlessly off of stationary vehicles. Maybe you could ground pound a player off the back off an enemy mongoose(or otherwise exposed passenger), but that is about it.
Flyable Pelicans for Big Team Battle, and you can drop off warthogs and your troops

The Gungoose in my opinion is sort of worthless still. It only aims straight. No biggie for me though.
I think vehicles should be strong again. The whole point of armor is to deflect bullets. Why should a scorpion tank fall victim to a DMR or Sniper? As we have seen with Halo 2 Anniversary, we can have scripted events through buttons like the EMPs on Bloodline. Make the vehicles strong and simply put anti-vehicle objects on the map like EMPs and landmines. That relies on teamwork to control the places where those buttons are as well.
In my opinion, I think every single weapon from every single halo game should be in halo 5, personally I dont see any excuse to not do it, especially from how polished it already looks
