I tend to find myself unexcited with the updates. I like them, but I tend to never get pumped from the announcements or the REQ sheets. Some things have peaked my interest, but the majority of the time nothing.
So I thought on why this was, and this is my reason. For me, parts of the updates don’t feel new to me. I tend to conclude with the typical “this should of been here at launch”, and in the end I feel like halo 5 is just playing catch up. Now this doesn’t apply to req’s (though I have a different issue with them) or maps, but when it comes to game modes and some fixes, yeah.
GAME MODES
So, the thing that bothers me with game modes in this game is that you can’t create a lot of them. Yes the updates add the ability to do so, but I have to wait several months just to have the ability to change character and team traits for a slayer variant (infection, fiesta).
Now as I said some things did interest me, grifball is one of them. The gravity hammer had no reason for being in this game. It had no purpose in the campaign and 343 didn’t have some clever way to throw it in like in H4. So this asset was made just to add grifball, which to me is acceptable as actual new content even if the gravity hammer and grifball aren’t new.
REQs
As I stated earlier, I have a different
Issue with the new reqs. Now this has nothing to do with the req’s. It’s simply just the req system being the req system.
Just think about it, several new reqs are added each month, but to get them you have to rely on the req systems rng to give you them. Now I don’t know about you, but I haven’t made a dent in the initial launch reqs, so I’m probably never going to see these new ones.
FIXES
These apply to something like the addition of the mute all button or the addition of post game medals. I’m happy to finally see them back when they’re added, but seriously why in the world weren’t they in the game at launch?
