I know i just posted another thread saying that Halo 5 is unplayable because of lag, but this, this is too frustrating not to post another freaking thread about.
Today i played 4 matches in Team Arena and gues what… I lost every one of them!
I was the only one carrying my team, the only one who captured the freaking flag, the last man standing in every round of Arena Breakout, but i still lost every single match.
I was about to cry from anger. This is not possible. The best part is that my teammates were all Diamond/Onyx!
The only thing they cared for was getting kills, not capturing flags and so on, which is really no sense in an objective based playlist.
I you don’t believe me, just look at the five last matches i’ve done (the last one is a slayer match in which i carried my team to the win).
I’ve also won 7/10 swat matches but only got classified Plat 3, but in the last season i got classified Gold 5 only by winning 3/10 matches, how’s that possible?
I’m really upsed about what happened today, because i deserve to stay in Diamond/Onyx, while i’m being “forced” in Gold/Plat only because of my teammates.
343 please make the ranking system consider not only your W/L, but also the K/D, the flags captured, the bases captured and the position of the player in the team (like 4th, 3rd, 2nd or 1st), because as it is right know it’s really unfair, and annoying (i rage quit the game because i was fed up with the amount of time i’ve wasted not having fun).
Dude… I. Feel. You.
The ranking system is weird. Not sure how it even works. The only advice I can give buddy… Play with friends. Or at least don’t always go in solo… That is the hardest part. I can never find people to play with when I’m on. Then when I finally do get a good team going, we only play for a few nights then I forget who I’ve played with and remove folks.
Thats been a common problem for halo. People quit and or dont play the objective, it happens. Its always happened in halo, go on lfg and look for people to play with, most of the time you will find a group with mics that actually play the objective.
They changed the algorithm when it comes to placements and it considers where you placed before, who you played against (what rank they are/were), how well you played and if you won so there is more than just wins when it comes to placement. After you are placed Im pretty sure its mainly just wins and performance. (mostly just wins but dont quote me on that)

Thank man, i’ve never been so frustrated…
I tried to play with friends yesterday, but they are much worse than me, so i gave up on that. I also tried to invite the only decend team i found in Swat, but no one of them joined me
Your rank is also based on how well you played against other types of players. If you’re playing with higher level people and hold your own, you’ll probably place higher, regardless of whether you win or lose. Yeah, your team mates have some impact on your rank, because if they play well, you have a better chance at playing well; but at the end of the day it does come down to your performance imo. I am a solo player so I know how that goes. However I consistently place as a platinum in every playlist. Is that amazing? No, there are a ton of better players than me, but at least I know I played consistently throughout all the different playlists.

I kinda sucked in the matches because i focused and tryharded so much on capturing the flag or capturing bases that my stats went down to 0.5 k/d or so.
So even if the system counted my stats, it would have been useless. I still got better placements than the majority of my teammates, but i don’t think the system counts it, because i carried almost every match in swat and got classified only plat 3…
I’m used to that

Lol for me platinum is low. I used to get classified Diamond or Onyx in Team Arena, Swat and Slayer (even if in the first season i purposely got classified plat in slayer and breakout because i wanted to get a higher k/d rateo). Swat is the only one in which i got classified gold, but that’s because i lost 8/10 matches (because of my teammates quitting) and plat this season (i don’t know how, since i won 7/10 matches and always carried).
I always played against people at my same rank in the old season, so it doesnt impact my score.
I just figured out that if i think i’m going to get classified plat or less i just don’t play the 10th match, because it would be to embrassing for me.

You say “used to” like the game has been out more than 3 months and has had more than 2 rankings.
Also they tightened up the metrics and made it more difficult to rank into Onyx in SWAT and FFA. Just because you WERE in the higher divisions doesn’t mean you SHOULD be there.
I looked at a couple of the games you lost. You’re unranked in playlists and losing to people ranked Diamond and/or Onyx. That doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. The Halo 5 ranking system is predicated on a win/loss system. If you want to rank up and do well, you really need a team. So I’m somewhat sympathetic to your plight but ultimately, if you want to win, you need to find people that will play with you.

Which doen’t make sense. If i want to play solo how do i do? I don’t play?
There should be a kind of “detector” that detects people that are playing solo and puts them against other people playing solo.
I’m losing against Diamond/Onyx people because of my Diamond/Onyx teammates who don’t deserve to be in Diamond/Onyx division…

In the games I looked at, you and your teammates (except for a couple) were all unranked.
I don’t necessarily think you should have been playing Diamond/Onyx ranked players at that point but you’re not exactly 100% correct on what you’re saying.
And if you want to play solo, there’s always FFA.

To add to that, there is Warzone and BTB. Also going in solo, you should probably understand you have a greater chance of losing. Randoms are usually not going to be good.
I just want to be able to play Capture the Flag whenever I want too…
I generally run a team of 3 consistents…that 4th person though. F
yea the few times i played breakout i was the last man standing for a few of the matches and we barely won. it was bad.
its still unbeliveable to me how unaware people are

Unranked people that were Diamond/Onyx in the past season…
I absolutely hate rumble pit because of the latency giving me always assists and not allowing me to win a single freaking fight without dying along with my enemy…
It’s the only Halo I have joined a clan for so yes if you want to play Team Arena or Slayer you almost have to get a party together.
Not sure why I use to end up with guys who would just troll me during my games when I solo queued but it was enough to make me not solo queue again.
I was watching Naded stream last night though and he plays solo all the time and just communicates in party chat. Guess you can get away with it when your as good as he is at matchmaking though.
How do you think yelling at the Waypoint forums will solve this?
There is also a good chance your teammates are potatoes, much like my teammates 90% of the time.

Maybe 343 realises how bad the ranking system based only on W/L is and changes it?
