I see a lot of complaints regarding the January update teaser, how 343i isnt taking it seriously, how the trailer isn’t serious, how the pizza skin isnt serious business.
But in hindsight the Halo 5 teasers before and after launch were never really that serious. The actual campaign and MP segmented trailers had a serious tone, but the smaller and informational ones were more comical.
I understand a lot of people are frustrated that they appear to be focusing on the smaller things, but there’s really no point in calling them out here and now about pizza skins like as if it’s new for them to be non-serious when they’ve been goofing off with this kind of shenanigans since before the game even launched.
Trailers are one thing, in-game stuff which are going to see daily use such as armors, weapon skins, emblems and vehicles are an entirely different thing.
I have no problems with goofy trailers because they themselves do not impact on the seriousness of the game itself like actual in-game content.
Seriously fake.
The only parts I liked in the most recent dlc trailer is the eagle noise and the classic Br moment. The trailers as the story in Halo 5 shows means nothing, the contents in the trailer that will be playable upon release of the dlc is what should be serious. In the sense that it should be what the player is expecting from what was previewed in the trailer. Example? The classic Br better feel special!!! It would be great if classic music plays upon pick up of the Br for a few seconds or forever. But a few seconds would be nice.

I disagree with that. To a lot of people, first impressions mean a lot. Remember how much criticism 343i got for the Chief dies trailer? Or the how the criticisms about how cheesy that the superhero-y action-packed Avengers-knock offed first cinamatic trailer was.

How long have you been playing Halo?
Seriously though, Halo was never a completely serious franchise. Nor was it ever meant to be completely serious. If that hadn’t dawned on you with the presence of all of the various shenanigans over the years, then you should probably re-examine the earlier games, as well as your mindset of Halo in general.
But by all means, if this point is going to be argued, I could list many examples to contradict this.
I hope we see those videos return with this update. The livestream had one but I hope some more come out for every update. Was so disappointed to not see anything for MK IV or Forge.
Yeah, the art style was already kinda bent over a barrel because of weapon skins. While the pizza and mister chief skins push it into TF2 levels of gaudy, the precedent was already there.
