Halo 5 Trailer and Infinity

I haven’t seen a post about this yet, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who noticed it. Go back, watch both trailers. Look in the upper right corner whenever there is a shot showing the sky. What do you see?

Infinity. In terrible shape, with massive fires burning throughout the hull. Infinity’s is a hell of a ship. It would take a very big weapon to blast through that much plating. I don’t quite have a theory for this yet, but when I do, I’ll be sure to post it.

Discuss this amongst yourselves.

Calling it now, John released Mendicant Bias, and he wasn’t really trying to atone for his sins. Either that, or John does have the geasong of Bornsteller (Possibly Ur Didact, but unlikely to me), and activated some sort of weapon to damage Infinity. Plus John’s armor in Locke’s trailer wasn’t damaged by UNSC projectile rounds, or plasma, but rather energy from Forerunner weapons.

As of right now, according to the games (I can’t reference other media since I don’t read the comics and haven’t read all of the books) it seems like the Covenant faction in Halo 4 is the only hostile enemy force we know of so far. In the epilogue cutscene for Halo 2 Anniversary, the pilot of the ship Locke and Arbiter are in announces that there are Covenant forces incoming. That’s about all we have to go off for who or what could have damaged the Infinity (again, haven’t read all the books or comics, so I may have missed something)

I thought Mendicant Bias was destroyed by I04-2?

We have no particular reason to believe he was destroyed; the Ark is still intact, just damaged.

He speaks to John during the Halo 3 terminals. It’s theorized the Forerunner construct in the 2013 E3 trailer was MB, which makes sense since he was buried under the sands of the ark.

And we know this by… drumroll

In the terminal, Mendicant Bias says “And so here at the end of my life, I do once again betray a former master.” He may not actually be destroyed, but with that line, it seems like it’s safe to lean more towards the destroyed side than the intact side

Good point, but I feel like he isn’t dead. I think 343 is going for Mendicant’s return. I guess we’ll find out soon.
