Halo 5 tournament: why the guardian rule?

So as many of you know, there is a tournament in local microsoft stores in the us and a few other countries. After reading the registration form, I found it quite unnecessary that a parent/legal guardian is required to participate in the tournament. Being within that jurisdiction myself, nobody in my family plays halo or even console games for that matter. (I have a family of PC gamers)

So I’m pretty sure that I am not the only one with this problem, and it would be great if microsoft/halo could change it to having a guardian present or participating.

Going to close this off in favor of an active topic regarding this in general Discussion:

Worth noting that participation likely just means to be in attendance, they won’t actually need to take part
