343 has said that Halo 5 will be the darkest Halo game, this seems to me that at 1st maybe we’ll be fighting The Didact then the we will find out about the Precursors and their parasite the Flood will be on their way to return. Do you think this will happen? Seems like this might be possible, also I wonder, if Jul makes it to Halo 5, how he will react when/if he finds out this information.
The second part of most any trilogy is always the darkest. Think Empire Strikes Back, or Two Towers. Both saw the enemy make strides against the protagonists and bumped up the drama. Our heroes get taken back down a peg or find their limits. I think this is what they mean, which is a successful formula anyway.
What returns, or who, or how; I hope they all come back. A rich, and complex galaxy is much more fun to romp through, than just having one set of enemies and allies.
I hope we do get the flood back soon, we need some multi-sided battles again.
Definitely, the conflict between the UNSC and the Prometheans is going to take a turn for the worse. All the Didact has to do is play the ‘I’m a Forerunner’ trick on any former Covenant world to secure their allegiance. Hell, in a few months of travelling around the galaxy, the Didact could single-handily rebuild the entire Covenant Empire.
Im honestly hoping between humanity, the re arrival of the flood, the rift in covenant factions, and the Promethean warriors lead by the Didact all enter a struggle to obtain the mantle, each trying their own way to both defeat the flood, as well as defeat other species that may try to overtake them, pushing all intelligent live in the galaxy to the brink by the end of Halo 5, leading to the arrival of the precursors in Halo 6, I think that would be pretty awesome
It is stated somewhere in the lore that the precursors used the flood to test to see who truly deserved the mantle so it would only make sense for the flood to return and if any precursors who survived the first firing of the rings to return. I think the flood will be in Halo 5 and the precursors in Halo 6.
Now, a question I have been pondering for a few days- will Master Chief survive in the end of Halo 6? I’m not basing that on anything, just wondering what people think.
I really want the flood to come back, they added such an amazing facet to the universe.
UNSC VS FLOOD VS Storm Covies VS Promethean Forces on a large Forerunner Installation = FATAL FOURWAY!!!
-Yoink- yeaaa!!!
It would be awesome if Thel Vadam (aka the Arbiter) came back, but it would be a really dark twist to me if he and his faction decided to abandon their allegiance with humanity in order to side with the Didact. Along with the Return of the Flood, the destruction of the UNSC Infinity and Dr. Halsey’s death, it would make us all feel like “This is it, there’s no more victory anymore.” This would be a huge throw around of hell for us. Hope will surely be lost, and with the Master Chief giving up and retiring after the death of Cortana, what are we supposed to do?

That…would be friggen awsome.

Intresting…Intresting.
is it possible we will be fighting the Forerunners instead? After playing through the campaign again, it almost seems that way. I feel like maybe the Precursors are just in the books, and may never actually be in the games.
Perhaps some actual Forerunners survived and will team up with the Didact to stop Humanity. The Didact’s speech at the end could hint at this. When he falls through the slip-space portal, maybe he rejoins the remaining Forerunners. That could explain who he is talking to. Unless that is a speech he gave back when Ancient Humanity and the Forerunners were still at war.
Hopefully the upcoming Spartan Ops episodes will give us a better idea of who we will actually be fighting in Halo 5
They aren’t going to introduce the precursors randomly.
I see the focus being on wherever the forerunners are,the issues between us, and the flood returning.
343I said they have the next 20 years mapped out in which I and others think this is just a prequel trilogy.
8 years. It’ll be 8 years without the Flood by the time Halo 5 comes out. The haters have had their time without them. Besides, the haters will have Forerunner weapons to murder them like there’s no tomorrow, so the haters won’t have much trouble.
As for me, yes, the Flood need to come back. Campaign, Multiplayer, Firefight, Spartan Ops, I want them in everything!
And besides, you can’t have the darkest Halo yet without the Flood. Seriously.
I do expect the Flood to arrive mid-late into the Campaign, but they’ll be in nonetheless and we’ll fight them.
That would be pretty cool, didn’t the precursors favor the humans anyway and see the forerunners unworthy of the mantle it could come down to humans/precursors/flood vs covenant (every covie species excluding prophets)/forerunners that would be epic beyond belief
> And besides, you can’t have the darkest Halo yet without the Flood. Seriously.
Yes you can halo 4 is the Darkest halo yet with humans getting killed, john getting smacked around, cortana dying, and an entire city being wiped out.
Not that i disagree with the flood returning (if not in halo 6) But 343I has a limited mindset if they can’t make a dark game without the flood.
Dark and scary aren’t synonymous. I feel like the flood could indeed be like the necromorphs in dead space. Something they should have been like from the get go.
Precursors did say that The Forerunners are unworthy of the Mantle, The Forerunners got butt hurt about this and went all genocidal on The Precursors, Precursors dipped this galaxy for another and plan to return with their answer, The Flood came in to “test” Ancient Humans and they had “proven” themselves (explains their non working cure), Ancient Humans run away from Flood into Forerunner territory, Forerunners somehow don’t see what humanity is running from so they de-evolve humanity after the human-forerunner war, peace time comes in, Flood comes in says, “Knock-knock, we’re kicking your front door in and we’re going to eat you.”, Forerunners say, “Holy crap we must duel now!”, Forerunners realize they don’t got very many weapons so they create Shield Worlds at first, Forerunners says it’s too costly for the Shield Worlds and decide it’s better to create a weapon that destroys all life in the galaxy…except The Flood (odd), Forerunners Tera-Nuke the galaxy, Flood says, “Holy crap our foods gone now, we’re going to sleep.”, Forerunners that survived pull a Houdini, breather time…, finally humans rise back to star travelers barely, Covenant come in, Mendicent Bias tells Prphets humanity are reclaimers, Prophets go into -Yoink- mode and commence genocide on humanity, Elites say, “FU we ain’t getting paid crap.” (Not really), and Covenant implodes on itself, Humanity does a victory lap, SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED HALO 4 YET. MC arrives at Requiem, Storm-Covenant are there and to find Didact, Ur-Didact says he hates humans and decides to go genocidal on humans, MC says no and shoves a grenade down his throat (armor actually), Composer gets obliterated, Cortana died (probably not), MC says he needs a coffee break, and Didact goes into a corner and cries that he failed. This a speed run containing some of the important details of what’s happened.

If your enemies try to eliminate you, you would go all out and take the first strike.
Precursors intended to wipe out Forerunners, but Forerunners realized this plan and attacked them first.
Precursors created forerunners so shouldn’t they have beat them.
> Precursors created forerunners so shouldn’t they have beat them.
That’s a mystery that is going to be explained in Silentium, supposedly.
