Halo 5 tips: how to get good

My KDA is almost 4.0 after 40+ games, I see many people my rank and on these forums with negative kda and may need some tips to win those close 1v1 or even 1v2 situations.

Awareness is key!- check your radar constantly, pin pointingout your enemy lets you come up with strategies before engagments. NEVER* engage enemies that have the number advantage. If you’re alone with nothing but an AR and 4 enemies are approaching get the heck out of there. Death is guaranteed. Let your shields recharge before going out and shooting an enemy and remember sprinting stops them from recharging. Too many of my teammate have given the enemy easy kills by not following these

Truster pack is a weapon!- so much you can do with it and can be the reason you get a triple kill rather than a face full of bullets.
Ninja: an enemy is behind you looking for an easy kill only to fall into a bait and trap by you via jumping and thrusting backward. trusting midshootout will make the enemy miss, you just keep your aim. Don’t abuse ground pound only use it on unsuspecting enemies beneath you. Charging I use when running and attempt to assassinate or happened to be caught by surprised

Using weapons- BR: use it at long to midlong, it no longer dominate at all ranges or even mid range anymore. AR is powerful and if youre not accurate with the BR you’ll lose at mid range. DMR: it’s now what it was ment to be a long range weapon
SMG: its as powerful as the SAW in H4. It’s annoying to fight against so stay away if the near by enemy has it. Sniper: it’s just like it’s always been but with a faster pace to gameplay going on sprees with it is harder plus the map is smaller. Scoping in 24/7 can get you killed so be careful and now when to do it.

Work with your team and listen to call outs,

I personal don’t use sliding and forget it’s even in the game. Im may test it out in combat soon.

Im not gonna reveal all my tips but these I will because they basic things people need and should know.

Oh and if anyone wants to team up just send me a request D TheLastKing

These are golden rules to follow. Especially teamwork! Staying with the pack is crucial, but there is also a right time to break off to push a group of enemies into your team’s line of fire.

Also, despite what you hear from the try-hards and sprint haters, sometimes it’s okay to retreat. You don’t have to wait until you are near death, some engagements can look bad from the start. If you are trading shots and the enemy is able to push you into a bad spot where he can get the advantage, it’s okay to pull back and try from another angle or with some reinforcements.

There are a lot of factors on the battlefield that can shift the outcome of a match, but the biggest thing is teamwork. Watch your buddies backs, clean up kills, and get assists when you have to.

On that note, thrusters are your best friend in that regard. Sprint on recon feels to unintuitive for me to start running away, as so many people claimed, coupled with the no shield-regen nerf.
