Ok, based off the new trailer heres what I came up with: The insurrection, after the war, needed more hope in there cause, something to throw the UNSC off guard, most importantly make them weak. The insurrection hire some bounty hunter to kill the UNSC’s biggest hero, the Master Chief. Meanwhile the chief is awol trying to fin chief, they get Locke to get him, Most people in High-com want him dead but the council would not allow it locke, hood, Lasky. Lasky wanted palmer but hood knew how Palmer delt with Halsey. So There are now two people hunting chief. Eventually the UNSC find’s out about the Insurrectionist. That’s who’s behind the sniper rifle, the innes. Then it goes on how it goes on, basically Locke being warned and chief and locke linking up with arbiter, to defeat something of impossible odd’s, what that is I have no idea.

Killing the saviour of your species would be the biggest PR misstep imaginable. Plus I don’t think there’s a bounty hunter in the galaxy willing to accept that hit.

there might be some but none who work for the New Colonial Alliance/United Rebel Front.

I really doubt the insurrection will be able find a Bounty hunter willing to try to kill some who has stopped galactic genocide 3 time in a row, let alone a bounty hunter skilled enough to do so… Unless your telling me Samus going to be in this game…

I’ve read an interesting theory where Chief allies himself with the covenant, because of Halsey… to revive Cortana perhaps… so he becomes a traitor too… Not exactly sure how that would happen… but…
