Definitely needs building templates. How am I supposed to make a round base with two floors with only square pieces, and no spiral staircases?
I would of added a vote to simplify the controls to be more adaptable like the Halo Reach Forge controls but I already am beginning to get used to the Halo 5 controls. It’s new and complicated, but it’s definitely not an issue. The complexity allows for more opportunity.
I don’t understand the so called benefits to this new control scheme. Maybe I’m missing something but nothing so far seems to be drastically better with these new controls.
They need to make forge playable offline. My internet has been acting up they last few days so I can’t touch my forge map. Sometimes I just can’t understand what goes through the heads of the people at 343i. Who thought making forge always online was a good idea? Why have they still not given us some modes that should have been there from the games release? I’ve tried to stay optimistic about 343i’s halo but I’m really starting to lose faith.

This right here ^^^^
Although I have pretty decent internet for the most part it isn’t always the most stable and gets knocked out frequently.
I agree with the last guy forge needs to be offline playable. I use a hotspot and it uses up so much data. Also I was having trouble with connection issues yesterday while Xbox live was down.
also I wish there was a dedicated lock button for objects.
Forge does indeed need to be playable offline. Talking about over points I forgot to include in the polls, but file share should be a variable option. It’s pretty ridiculous to not be able to simply search for specific maps of your taste and find anything from a few presses of the button. The current three forge canvas’ are too small. Well, the maps themselves are massive, but all the locations with funky looking formations have so much potential for incredible designs, but the boundaries destroy that potential. Out of the things I want changed first, it’s either they expand these boundaries or make a bigger forge canvas designed to cater to many different play styles like Reach did five years ago. With all the new functions of Halo 5 forge, combining the two has infinite ideas.
Definitely gametypes and then a Forge World DLC. Preferably desert themed.
Don’t forget dominion it was the best thing they did with halo 4 I enjoyed it way more than warzone
offline is needed it’s the only time i ever do any forging if I have no internet

I did love dominion, it would of been cool if they did a similar thing in Warzone: gradually over time, as the bases are locked down for longer they get built-in features and new benefits to reward the players for defence. The turrets were particularly badass, and I would love to use them on maps as a singular object rather than have them restricted to a game mode.

I believe that the change was made to accommodate the multi item selection mechanic - so that a player can move the camera with RS while selecting items with RB, instead of the alternative, selecting with A and moving with RS, which would’ve been cluncky. As for the other changes I don’t really get why map options moved from B to X, but in a sense, it is closer to RS, lowering travel time, thus making the controls seem slightly more fluid. I guess, also, A is down because it is down in terms of physical layout on the controller (below B), but this doesn’t really make sense, because in the default control scheme, A is jump, and so should logically be up. But I don’t think any of the community forgers that 343 was testing forge on actually use the default control scheme, and because the forge team is fairly separate to the rest of the devs (they said in the halo show), and probably don’t talk to ?UI? often, they probably wouldn’t care that much. Sorry, that went from an attempt to explain the benefits, to me analyzing a choice, but I think, that is why the controls were chosen, at least.
How about all of the things you listed?

Fix the fact that idiling will kick you out after awhile, and if you didn’t save… All your work ain’t comin’ back. We should have an option:
- Use Dedicated Servers- Recommended for co-op Forging - Offline/No Dedis- For Singleplayer Forge/LAN ForgeThat way, singleplayer forgers aren’t taking up unnecessary space on the Dedis, and if they need to go AFK for a bit, for whatever reason, they can leave without the risk of losing their work because they were kicked.
As for Co-Op Forgers, if they are inactive for a long period of time, the idling kick rules are still in effect, but now, the game automatically saves the progress to a separate file.
So if I made a map named Valhalla (I wish) and I was kicked for idling, the changes made before I was kicked are saved on a file named Valhalla1, while Valhalla remains unchanged (Much like quitting without saving)
So now, if you were unsatisfied with the build you made in the last session, but you were kicked for idling, you can easily get that back and retry. But, if you liked what you built before the kick, you can also get that back. The one you choose to get rid of can be easily deleted from the file options screen.
