Okay, so I’m sure we all know that Halo 5 will be darkest Halo of the Reclaimer trilogy, right? We’ve been told that Halo 5 will be a much darker title before the conflict is resolved in Halo 6.[Source] But what do you expect from this? More blood, more intense drama, for their to be more at stake? Please share you ideas here. I personally expect/desire:

It doesn’t mean the destruction of the human race, by then we have spread to other planets.

Its like building up a tower of cards or lego blocks, only for someone to knock it over. All that hard work… hours of tiresome… boring… tedious… work.

I think it could be this. Instead humans fighting of autonomy or representation I think it could be on a grander scale with humans fighting over a revelation or an idea where humanity needs to go forward. And Chief would obviously get sucked in and have to choose.
I dont think thry would destroy earth, maybe mass casualties, or we loose earth. But lets face it, if something can get through our defences at earth were pretty much screwed anyway, unless there has been a major shift in focus to another colonized planet as the center of humanity.

Precursors return, Flood begin to spread once more, Storm Covenant faction gain more power amid the chaos, Cortana dies, Precursor/Forerunner alliance wipe out the vast majority of the human race and the Covenant species. In Halo 6 the remainder of humanity and the Covenant races are safeguarded in cryo on Requiem while every soldier alive is sent to Delta Halo (from Halo 2) on a suicide mission to activate the ring and destroy the Precursors, the Prometheans, and the Flood for good.
I’d bet an entire roll of Scotch tape on this being legit.

It could be this too. I never heard of anything thus so far indicating that we have gotten rid of all the flood and spores. I’m stating the obvious but everyone knows the Flood is highly dangerous and has taken over entire galaxies.

Forerunners mass-genocide of earth, destroying every major civilization; a post apocalyptic world (with a few underground military and resistance facilities, used for the UNSC and various spartan programs). The forerunners did this because history repeated itself (anyone remember the Forerunner-Human war? They destroyed us back into the stone age). They realized that this ddidn’t work, so they enslave us. It is up to chief and the resistance forces to push the forerunners off of our planet.
