Halo 5 Technical Issues

Hello. For a long time now, I have had issues with Halo 5. Recently though, I have become extremely frustrated and I’m running out of hope that my problem will be fixed. I believed that maybe, in the new update, that it would be fixed. I’m sad to say it was not. I’ve been having issues with multiplayer gaming for the past few months. Since December, I have been getting a message that reads as follows: “Could not find a server that was suitable for all members of your fireteam.” I have no idea what to make of it or why I get it in the first place. Any help would be appreciated, and since Halo 5’s in game help center has no answers for me, I’m turning to the people for help. Thank you.

Have you tried the following:

  • A hard reset of your Xbox - Restarting your internet router

I used an Ultra Rare level Req for RP Boost in Warzone. Just had to complete the match and I would get it. But midway through the match my game crashed. Any way to recover that REQ? They don’t come around often and that was quite annoying to lose it due to the game crashing.

If future please don’t hijack another users topic, especially if you issue is not related to the one being discussed. You should start a new topic for this, but I’ll give you an answer here for benefit: Boots do get returned into your inventory if you do not meet the criteria of them during the match. It can sometimes take 4 or 5 games for them to be returned

Hi ExstMONSTERS,

Seeing the “Could not find a server that was suitable for all members of your fireteam” error when you’re the only player in the party usually points to networking problems between your xbox and the datacenters running the H5 dedicated servers. For example, we’ll pop this error if your console failed to ping all of the Halo datacenters.

I pulled some of your recent telemetry sessions from successful custom games, and your pings look really high. If resetting the console and networking devices didn’t help, it’s probably worth a call to your ISP to see if they can run some network diagnostics on your connection. I’m assuming you’re not on satellite internet, connecting through a cellphone, or intentionally throttled by your ISP (for excessive bandwidth use or something).

Sorry didn’t realize this was a single user thread. It just says “Technical Issues” so I thought this was the place to report them. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you. Finally someone sends a clear message on how to fix it and what’s happening. I have already sent a message to our internet company and they are sending out a new connection setting and we are getting something like an xfinity router. Thank you for your help.

I have actually found a way to make my multiplayer work. I open halo 5, open my settings and connect my hotspot reconnect to my internet and go back to halo 5. It forces it to reload and it connects. I have done it successfully two times now and it works every time. I am happily at sr 4 and war zone is awesome.

Awesome, glad you were able to figure out a workaround - hopefully it’ll be even better one the new router’s in place!
