Halo 5 teaser *Guardian Sentinel*???

A quick one but to ponder…

This big thing that comes out of the sand in the TEASER could be 343’s version of this →

it has the name guardian. its forerunner. its size is described as massive.
They escorted The artifact in Origins wich means they’ve been to the ark.

it was supposed to be in halo 3 as a boss fight and was taken out.

I think this is a highly plausible theory.

Very interesting. Thanks for information…I see the similarities! Cool.

i know they’re not 100% similar but the slighest details are clearly there. not to mention the name and size it just all seems a little to much of a coincidence :stuck_out_tongue: like maybe there are different levels of sentinel the same way there are different levels of promethean enemies.

I want all sentinels to return and new ones. I just loved them ever since CE.

I want the Micro-sentinels, majors, enforcers, Battle variant for Strato-Sentinel, Guardian Sentinel.

I don’t think that was a Guardian Sentinel. Though this is 343, I don’t think the design for a Guardian sentinel would be that far off from Bungie’s, or should be at all.

Oh, and forgot about Onyx Sentinels. Very powerful, but can be balanced and hope they aren’t specifically limited to Onyx Shield World…

Maybe its not so different in terms of name, perhaps as i said it could be a variation of the guardian sentinel. the lore suggests it strongly. just the head shape to me, along with its size description and location. xD! but hey im just trying to get some speculation going here. :stuck_out_tongue:

It does have some similarities to the eagle creature in Halo 5 trailer but I don’t think it’s the same. Thanks for posting this though it was really cool to learn the historical background of this going to be in Halo 3.

Also question, were those in some of the halo wars cut scenes?

Nah, I know what you mean. I believe those were Forerunner Ships, but they do look similar to Guardian design is some ways.

I dont think they were, i believe they were shown only in origins halo: legends.

While it’s entirely plausible for 343i to redesign the appearance of the Guardian Sentinel to the shape of what we saw in the teaser, the machine that we saw in the teaser lines up perfectly with how a lot of people imagined a War Sphinx or a Seeker.

The chances are that it’s a War Sphinx or a Seeker, not a redesigned Guardian Sentinel. Additionally, War Spheekers have a higher connection to the story.

Oh I see, thanks for clearing that up.

I always thought the machine at the end was a War Sphinx

Actually, it’s definitely a War Sphinx.

Seekers lacked the “face” design that War Sphinxes had, and from the looks of it, the thing in the announcement trailer sure as hell has a face on its cabin.

Definitely a War Sphinx.

It’s too big to be the war sphinxes from cryptum.

Not by much. Besides, a trailer is never going to be 100% accurate.

Always different variants of the same thing too. The way Onyx Sentinels are depicted by Nylund in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx differs slightly from the ones we’ve seen on Installation 00,04, and 05.

As far as I know we’ve never seen Onyx Sentinels before. Only in Ghosts of Onyx because they were only stationed at Onyx.

It really doesn’t fit the description of a War Sphinx. It’s definitely way more than 10m tall, and definitely way less than 20m long. It’s missing the tail that is so important to a War Sphinx, it barely even has one at all from what I can tell. It’s definitely a stretch to call that a Forerunner face, though I would agree that it forms a face of some sort, but it’s not like any Forerunner face that I’ve seen. Not to mention that the War Sphinx is considered ancient even among the Forerunners, not exactly something you’d find on the Ark.

In all likelihood this is something brand new. It doesn’t match the descriptions of anything that I’ve heard about.

Onyx sentinels are the only one’s I’ve heard of that have a spherical center ‘core’ and can link together.
