Halo 5: Synopsis

Hey there fellow Spartans and ODSTs! The official synopsis for Halo 5 Guardians has been revealed recently and here’s what it says…

"Peace is shattered when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. And when humanity’s greatest hero goes missing, Spartan Locke is tasked with hunting the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy."- Official Synopsis

Now from reading the synopsis alone, along with previously known info from Halo 2 Anniversary, we all know that the Chief has officially gone AWOL. But, the first part of the synopsis says that colony worlds have been unexpectedly attacked. The question is, who launched the attacks? Could it have been a newly reformed Covenant order under Jul’Mdama’s command? The Ur-Didact and his Prometheans? The Flood? What do u guys think? Post your thoughts and theories here!

Angry Waypoint posters?

j/k

I’m going to go with Covenant.

The colonies being attacked seems to point towards Jul’Mdama/Covenant/Prometheans.

But what doesn’t add up is “mystery that threatens the entire galaxy.” Or the Arbiter’s line in Halo trailer at E3 2014: “-But because all our lives are at stake.”

Both Jul and Ur-Didact are primarily antagonistic towards humanity, they’re not a threat to the entire galaxy. Which means it’s either The Flood, or something we’ve never even heard about. Or some random crazy alien is trying to activate Halo array again, but that would be pretty cheap writing.

The Nightfall bombs spring to mind, but I think they were dealt with pretty thoroughly already. It could be anything. Bit early for the Flood though, I have to say. Probably Covenant, possibly with something they get their hands on by the end of Escalations. Probably Promies in there too.

My guess is that Jul and the “mystery” are peripherally related. The mystery is something new in the overall plot.

Yeah. The bioweapon attack on Sedra (the bombs) happened right (I’m talking a few years) before the events of Halo 4. It’s 2558 in the Halo universe, so it would be safe to say that the UNSC has probably learned from the Sedra incident and they probably have countermeasures put in place to make sure that it doesn’t happen again. I’m also under the impression that both the Ur-Didact’s and Jul’s forces are behind the attacks.

This is really old, I saw this months ago. =P
