Halo 5 suck because...

Lets just put this out there.

There is a reason why the gaming population have largely abandoned such a classic…or rather, there are multiple reasons.
I can’t imagine 343 will read this post and pay attention but thought it’d would be great to get all the hate down in the very place they should be paying attention.

Consider it market research

I invite you to put 3 reasons down why you dislike halo 5, flesh it out a little so it is at least constructive…but refrain from walls of text.
Lets put down 3 reasons why you like halo 5 also (in an effort for fairness):

I will start:

Dislike
1./ Maps - Boring slightly ameded versions of maps we have played multiple times, minimal forge input due to low matchmaking selection options
2./ warzone - Not a big fan of MOBA-style gameplay (ie ranking up throughout matches). Especially dont like spending points for guns and the accompanying req system
3./ Run mechanics - I’m not against sprint per se…but I hate flinching out of sprint. Im not sure I like the shoulder charge itself either.

Like
1./ Nostalga - Halo is the reason I own an Xbox (halo 5 is the reason I own 2). However, my nostalgia is about worn out. something amazing is going ti have to happe to get me playing another halo game.
2./ Shield system - I love this style of FPS, where you regain health over seconds, not medpacs
3./ Grenades - I love the bounce and blowup style of grenades. I’ve never been a fan of counting backwards from 3

I dislike Spartan Charge, Pegasus and Tank World

I enjoy 95% of the game and it got me into the XBox One World as well

You’re not sure if you like Spartan Charge yet, this late into the game’s life? Jesus christ man, get it together.

Flinching out of sprint is there for a reason, it’s to prevent you from sprinting in a fight.

Also to balance the Spartan charge complained about in the next sentence lol :

Hates:

  • Dev Map Design: Maps are either too small, or just a jumbled mess, none of the dev maps really have that Halo vibe to them.

  • Buggy/Broken Dedicated Servers: Need I say more? Disconnects are super frequent, not for me but for a lot of people here on the forums.

  • Req system took priority of the game design: Now this shows the most with texture glitches, lack of splitscreen, lack of game types, and the lazily retextured “DLC” maps. Now the req system seems like it has taken priority during development as Halo 5 was released with abysmal amounts of content, not to mention there are bugs people have pointed out that still haven’t been fixed.

Dislikes:

  • Campaign
  • Bugs
  • UI
  • Spartan Charge

Likes:

  • Gameplay mechanics
  • Smart-link
  • Weapons
  • Sounds
  • Multiplayer

You’re not getting it bro… H5 doesn’t suck.

But, But… 343!

As much as I love Halo I am not afraid to mention what about H5 sucks(aka low population)…

#1= buggy servers/lag, especially for those outside of the US. Granted I live in the US but I have seen plenty of complaints so there must be something behind it. I get the “retrieving data” bug from time to time which is annoying as well.
#2 lack of spilt screen. This hurt the game way more than they anticipated I think. Basically saying if you want yo play H5 with family or friends you need another Xbox one is pretty lame. Especially when you have a yoinking “team based” campaign!
#3 lack of game modes at launch. First impressions mean a lot I think. Had BTB(the way it is now) and at least action sack been there it would have been a lot better.
#4 program in a Halo tutorial. This is something I feel is greatly needed in Halo. It would be so awesome if for war zone, arena, and forge if they had a tutorial. Have either 343 guilty spark or 031 exuberant witness floating around a map or two and explaining how things work. This would truly help new players to Halo.

Having a post based on hating isn’t very constructive. It won’t lead to anywhere good. A better title would be “Ways the improve Halo 5” or “What changes would you like to see in future Halos”. I personally really enjoy Halo 5. It is very far from a bad game.

In fairness I know why it’s there, I just don’t like it. It doesn’t feel too “halo” to me.

I flesh this out for you.

The shoulder charge is pointless, the recovery is slow and it is not powerful enough. The flinch is an irritant - when did running away or “moving into cover” cease to become a viable strategic option?

This is why I don’t like it… I’m not after approval here - it is my opinion. There is a sprint thread so let’s just agree to disagree on here - if you want to chat about this inbox me

Dislikes:
Micro-Transactions- Keep them where they belong in the mobile device realm and out of our consoles.
Spartan charge- Because I rarely use it on purpose and it has resulted in my death numerous times because of it.
Ranking system- I don’t mind it but I prefer the old system where it’s based on YOUR play. This new system relies solely on winning/losing. I get that it’s SUPPOSED to promote team work but I don’t think that’s happening necessarily.

Likes:
Maps- I know they get a lot of flack but overall I enjoy them. There are ones that I’m not fond of but none I hate.
Nostalgia- Still feels like Halo to me. It holds a special place for me. I was 18 and in the military when CE came out. So many hours spent on deployment conducting LAN parties.
Competitive gameplay- Believe it or not there is still a good population out there willing to act like a team.

the servers are all over the place

Sprint and other stuff that makes the game feel like a cheap knock off of other games.

H5 hardly has its own identity at all.

What old system? Halo ranking has always been based solely on win/loss.

Well, other than the first few months of reach arena but they patched it back to win loss when they realised making ranking based on stats was just causing everyone to betray each other all game.

I guess I should rephrase that. I liked the 1-50 system better than the bronze-onyx(champion) system.

Your 3 dislikes are literally the three reasons this is my favorite Halo OP
