Halo 5 Stresses me out.

It really does. The games just too competitive for me. Don’t get me wrong I love playing competitive games, but most of the time I play halo too have fun. With halo 5 I feel forced to go hard. Some people might say “Just don’t take the game seriously.” That would work great if it wasn’t for everyone else is taking it seriously. It seems like I never get matched up with good people, Like the enemy team just seems to out match me and my team or my team was a group of test monkeys. I can’t just leave the game if i’m not enjoying it because then I get punished. So its ether stay in a game I’m not having fun in or that is stressing me out or leave and get punished…

Then there is Warzone which I find even more competitive. You have to really think about where you spawn and what you spawn with at what time. Nothing pisses me off more then using my last tank or something just to get killed by someone who was camping right by the spawn. I could just play BTB but lets face the halo 5 BTB maps suck and its clear that they didn’t care about the mode at all.

I have move fun on halo 4, this is coming from someone who hates halo 4 with every ounce of his being. Halo 4 was not competitive at all and halo 5 is too competitive. Why cant we have the mid way point the old halos had…

Last night I tried starting a lobby to play halo 5 infection halo 2 style but the mods just moved my post to recruiting. I wasn’t trying to recruit people for some stupid clan or something I just wanted a group to play with, and it sucked because hardly anyone uses that forum and by the time someone sent me a message I had gotten offline. So that was fun sitting in custom games waiting to people by myself…

Today I was playing FFA and finally snapped and got off halo 5 and loaded up halo reach and played a round of infection and you know what? Not only did I have a blast playing but it relaxed me so much.

What I’m really getting sick of is hearing stuff like “Infection and other game modes and social playlists are coming”, or “Stop being a entitled brat.” I say when, when is this stuff coming? Yeah we are getting some game modes next week but what about the rest? Some time in the next 6 month? Yeah that’s a laugh…

Maybe I’ve just gotten behind the times, you know? If expecting a game to be done on release makes me a entitled brat then I guess I am. (Wouldn’t you be annoying if you ordered a hamburger and all you got was a bun and meat? wheres the rest of it? “Oh don’t worry we will bring that out to you sometime in the next 30 mins” NO, I want my whole Hamburger, NOW! “hey man don’t complain its free, You will get the rest when they finish it.” )

When I was growing up you didn’t have to worry about a game being complete, because if it wasn’t someone was going to get fired. It’s not just halo/343, a lot of companies are doing it look at battlefront it has half the content Battlefront 2 had when it came out. Now we have games that come out broken, not complete, have half of its content behind a DLC paywall or with grayed out features that say “coming later”. I would expect more from halo, The game once known as the King of Console shooters.

I miss when people cared about if a game was fun and enjoy and not about how competitive or how well it will sell. I just don’t understand the gaming community anymore.

Every time I play Halo 5, I think I hate Halo, then I go play CE and remember I love Halo. The good Halos… As for your Battlefront analogy: It’s not Battlefront 3, it’s DICE’s Battlefront. AKA Star Wars Battlefront EA. Paywalls are expected from EA, it’s nothing new. But hey, at least in Battlefront I know when I’m gonna unlock the thing I want.

Don’t play arena and if you do find a team because even if you’re getting your tookus whooped it’s still more fun to sit and B.S. with people than just sitting there taking that pounding. Think of it as lube.

I may be flamed for this but I get what you’re saying OP. Many video game companies come out with incomplete titles and say ‘more is coming’, because that’s the new model for many FPS games. I started really recognizing this with Bungie/Activision’s Destiny. It was a game that came out incomplete, but the sad thing is, is that it did so well and has become a model for other titles.

I will say this: I think the core gameplay of Halo 5 is amazing and top notch and I thoroughly enjoy the game. However, Halo 5 should have launched with some more game types, and in that sense 343 took a step backward from Halo 4 which had a good amount of game types. Hopefully things will improve.

This game is definitely extremely competitive and lacks a legitimate social playlist. MM would benefit from not letting teams of four match with any solo players, which is certainly plausible below mid-diamond. When you get into upper-diamond and above you basically have to play with a team, at least in my experience.

That’ true, Battlefront 2 and EAs Battlefront don’t even play the same. I reinstalled Battlefront 2 on my pc the other day and was having more fun playing with the bots maxed out then when I played the Battlefront beta.

I think Bungie wanted Destiny to be more epic, scale wise. I remember them talking about how the whole worlds would be explorable. They said something along the lines of “you see to see things off in to distance and you will get to go there and explore it, like the citys” In one of their vid-docs. I think Activision or what I like to call “Actandcashin” wanted them to make it more like Call of duty In the since that you don’t have to try to get anything you just win by default. (Its the same thing that happened to Wow after actandcashin bought Blizzard.)

As much as I’m enjoying halo reach’s infection I gotta say being alpha zombie 2 times in a row really sucks. When halo 5 does get infection I hope you will only be able too be alpha once per game or after everyone else has been it…

I agree with you op

That’s what happens when you’ve got a S2 million+ tournament looming… Haha.

It’s typically a very fast-paced game, but the way it mixes with the slower elements of past Halo’s is great IMO. There are definitely times when you can slow the game down to a crawl if you have a good set-up and the teams “respect each other” if you know what I mean.

Let me guess… you were playing this morning in Warzone and getting brutally curbstomped…

I’d know… I was in your team!

It pisses me off too, but mostly since I have a “no win, no stop” clause that means I am stuck losing my time if I don’t score a victory…

You should try BTB, I find there are less people “farming” it because you don’t get great req points for it like in Warzone, and you don’t get rating for it like other playlists. It usually has the most people who’re just messing around. When I’m trying to sober up after a long night, that’s the playlist I go into and mess around in.

I feel your pain though, I’d LOVE to have a 4v4 Team Arena Social playlist.

Also, if you’re not a competitive person, don’t worry about your rank or KDR. Just fire up a Team Arena match or Slayer game and have some fun. Getting destroyed is no fun, I hear you on that, but you’re bound to have GG’s if you keep playing, just don’t let the losses get to you.

I have not played Warzone today so I don’t know what your talking about.

It’s stressful at times, but I got adjusted to it. I love the multiplayer.

I agree with a lot of the OPs points. And lol at the burger comment! Good analogy, I get sick of hearing people say to just wait. Why should we? Would 343 wait for us to pay? Give us the game first, we’ll pay you later lol.

DLC and microtransactions have ruined gaming a lot for me. I’m old enough to remember buying a finished game. Whereas now we have day 1 patches, season passes, constant nagging to buy packs etc. It sucks. I have paid for a game, I want it ad free! I don’t want to see things for sale every time I click on a menu.

And for me, the game is frustrating when my kills don’t register. It literally completely ruins the fun, and I have to finish a losing game on a laggy server. Not cool.

As for the content, I literally cannot believe they’ve removed some good working game types. Taking team doubles out really annoyed me, as I loved playing it. I can’t always find a good team of people that I want to play with, but can usually find one decent friend online. The playlist was there, they took it away for no good reason.

In conclusion, yes Halo 5 stresses me out too. I love some aspects of it, been a Halo fan since the first one, but am having my patience tested on a daily basis at the moment.

I am a competitive person, but I just wanna have fun and relax. Its just that I feel I have to be competitive and because of that I don’t have fun. I Don’t like being forced to play a certain way. I don’t mind losing, I just don’t like losing because I got a unfair match up, or losing if I’m not having fun.

I don’t play BTB because the maps are bad and I feel Arena Social would be better 5v5.

Totally get what you’re saying OP. It’s almost like some goldilocks bs, halo 4 was too casual, halo 5 is too competitive. 343 really need to balance the two. i litterally havn’t played halo 5 since before xmas and found myself playing either reach bc or fallout 4, they just seem more complete. I’d rather suffer through reach bc’s framerate than play halo 5 atm.

One thing that you could do when the ranks get reset - lose every single game, go really badly negative. Then you’ll be a bronze 1 and be able to dominate for a while.

OP use this site next time you wanna create a custom game(: it may help! Halo lobbies

Playing with people worse then me is equal to playing with people who are better them me. Its not fun. and ranks don’t work like that, If your say gold rank you can not go to silver, you have to rank up.
