Hey guys, feel free to discuss anything you feel concerned for or are curious about in the halo 5 Campaign
I was beginning to wonder why the rest of fireteam Osiris didn’t help Locke in the fight. Chief was pretty much dominating that fight, but Locke did get a couple good shots. The rest of Blue Team had left and one would think that if the other 3 got in, they could have easily overpowered and subdued the Chief. I know it wouldn’t have been as dramatic, but from an inside standpoint, I’m wondering why they just stood and watched.
I really don’t like how Locke went toe to toe with chief. I think the cut scene should have shown chief beating down the whole Osiris team
Also thought that felt a little off the first time, but I’ve figured out a reason that at least works for me.
Chief is a Spartan 2, and one of the best ones… canonically he should be able to win a fight against any Spartan 4 without much trouble. Granted, the game doesn’t do a great job of explaining this but with all the implants, augmentations and literal lifetime of training, that’s how it would work out. Locke was chosen to lead Osiris because (I think) he was kinda exceptional for a Spartan 4, since his past meant he already had more specialised and deadly combat training than most soldiers who enlist to be Spartan 4’s.
The upshot of all this is that Locke is the only member of Osiris that actually has a chance to overpower Chief. They have the numbers, but they know if any of them got involved Chief would be far superior to them, making leaving the fight to Locke the best bet.
Still doesn’t make perfect sense I know, but it’s enough for me to accept it
I don’t really know anything about the lore of halo but are not spartan 2’s genetically modified from a young age to be vastly superior to all other humans while a spartan 4 is basically a marine in Spartan armour
