I have been tolerating the lag, getting booted, and the REQs not working because I will get a game or two occasionally without lag; However, I cannot Forge at ALL. I was kicked three times while in forge alone, not to mention the ridiculous lag.
I have done absolutely everything thus far:
Different ISP
New Modem
Port Forwarding
Advanced Port Forwarding
Bridged Modem
Hardwired the Xbox and turned off all other devices
I pull around 30mbps download, 7mbps upload, O% Packet Loss, ping is around 8.
I went forum to articles posting and researching similar issues, and heard a couple of plausible explanations:
An ex-employee from an ISP company said that they had a similar issue with WoW and TWC customers and there was a company that would hub the signal from TWC to the WoW servers and the issue was there and they contacted them to fix it.
Secondly I found an article about Packet Shaving, where an ISP could pick a big up and coming game title that they think is going to suck a lot of bandwidth or something and basically restrict the connection.
Now both of these are from the internet so I do not know how true they are, but I can tell you that I can turn off every internet using device in my home and still lag out of the smallest MM game in Halo 5 and the MMC. I was playing Star Wars Battle Front, and they have a playlist that is 20 V 20, and I had my daughter on netflix on the tablet and my wife on the laptop shopping for christmas…0 Lag, booting, or connectivity issues of any kind.
I also heard that there was some kind of interaction between Microsoft and 343i where 343 was going to make some kind of patch. If so when is that going to happen?
I just need some kind of explanation, I preordered the game, picked it up at mid night on the morning of october 27th, I have no answers yet, no help of any kind from 343i or Microsoft support, and I have exhausted all of my options through TWC customer support.
I just want answers, I am extremely frustrated and want some help of any kind.
Please and thank you,
Jeremy R. Jackson.
