So looking at the specs you need on PC to run halo 5 just makes me wonder. You need a pretty good pc to run halo 5 forge. The RAM they recommend made me wonder like huh. They recommend 12 GB of ram in the chart to be able to run H5F at 1080P 60 FPS but the xbox one only has 8GB of RAM. Most games only need 8gb of ram. Even people with PC’s most of them install one 8gb stick of ram, usually DDR3 because DDR4 is more expensive and they perform the same. In theory more RAM = more programs you can handle simultaneously. CPU is obviously a million times more important but im focusing on RAM actually forget all that My whole point to this post is if halo 5 is the problem or is it that the Xbox one just has trouble running a game like halo at 1080p 60 fps? Maybe thats why playing on Forge maps feel super laggy.
If I recall, the required specs required to run Halo 5: Forge were also posted when it got released.
It shouldn’t be too hard to look it up on Waypoint or any search engine (Google for instance) of your choice.

My apologies for digressing from the topic.
As long as you have a solid internet connection (wired, preferably), Halo 5 works no problem on the Xbox One. After all, it was made for the console…right?

I have often wondered this, and would not be surprised if the answer is yes. You are running the S right? Have you noticed a difference between the two?
I’m just hoping that the Scorpio xbox dosn’t take away from the Xone. That is supposed to be running much higher than the Xone, and I’m afraid halo 6s specs will surpass that enough to make it a Scorpio exclusive.
My Xone was expensive man…

Op heres what I think. Ive read other posts here and I don’t agree at all with them. But to answer your question does the xbox struggle… IMO yes! But I don’t blame it entirely on the xbox. I think Halo5 is the most inefficient game ever made. I blame most of it on poor coding. 343i has never been good at this part. Just look at there track record like the MCC… There good at throwing things together but nine times out of ten the performance of the game will be sacrificed. When Halo5 first launched and was bare bones it performed fairly well. But as time went on with updates in content the games performance went down hill. Now what we have is a bloated pig that is kind of trying to fly! It just isn’t happening. Now these are only my opinions of course and pertain only to the xbox one. But out of all my games H5 plays the worst by far then any other game ive ever played when it comes to performance… Just take a peak in the support section… I think that will bring a little light to what players are running across with this game. Not to mention the current heavy aim issue that has been here since launch… All very interesting…
Zippy.

Maybe 343 just made a game the xbox cant run
I think the XB1 struggles or just isnt capable of running much at a constant 1080p 60FPS, it’s not all bad as i still think games like H5, BF4/1 etc all look pretty good, and i like the more social, multi-media use of the console.
Roll on Scorpio this year though! Was going to grab a one S, but guess there isn’t much point…except UHD Blu rays for my 4K TV???
Games, and AAA, console-making games in particular, are designed to push the hardware to its absolute limits. Sometimes just a little bit beyond. Developers often spend the entire life cycle of the console exploring just what those limits are. That’s the nature of wanting to go 200mph in a car that was designed, for reasons of price, to only go 110mph. It doesn’t mean the One is junk. It means that it was engineered to a price point and you can’t expect miracles on a limited budget.
More to the point: If you’re experiencing frame rate issues that’s probably console. If you’re experiencing lag issues that’s probably connection or servers. No?

Op that is very possible. I just would find that to be a very risky move on 343i part. I look at it more of being a end result. Not intended but yet was the end result…

the biggest problems seem to be on forge maps

Microsoft confirmed there will never be any exclusives for any particular Xbox One. See, the Scorpio doesn’t offer higher power for developers to work with necessarily, it just has behind-the-scenes technical improvements that make games look better(for example, playing Halo 5 will look better on the Scorpio despite 343 not ever updating Halo 5 to be Scorpio-specific). The Scorpio only has passive improvements like smoother edges and higher frame-rate. The way the Scorpio renders stuff will improve, but the games themselves won’t specifically improve.

Yes the Xbox one does struggle to run H5 IMO. We get retrieving data bugs, the req system usually takes a minute or two to come online after you log into THE game. You you have to check your reqs before entering war zone or they maybe unavailable. Some of the forge maps do have frame rate drops. Now I am not sure if these issues are because 343 isn’t the best at programming or is it the Xbox one itself just underpowered for what they want to do.
