Halo 5 soundtrack "not memorable"

To those saying that the Halo 5 soundtrack is not memorable, or generic even. I say to you: music is memorable when it’s an experience. When you hear 117 you think of the second to last mission in Halo 4. When you hear Finish the Fight, you think of the warthog run at the end of Halo 3. When you hear Impend, you think of clearing a room full of elites and sending the covenant back their bomb.
The music we hear during these iconic moments are part of what makes them truly great. Alone and devoid of context, we can’t attach them to these moments of nostalgia that elevates them to legendary status.
When I hear The Trials, Blue Team, and Locke’s theme, I know that they’ll be attached to memorable moments in Halo 5 and in return be memorable songs. So I think people are really being premature with their critique of the soundtrack when every piece is meant to be heard during specific scenes/moments in the game. It doesn’t make the tracks un-memorable, we just have yet to fully experience what they have to offer.

I agree, but 5 is done by the same guy who wrote 117 in particular apparently, and it sounds good so far.

The choice of Muse for the commercial was incredibly stupid though.

I like plenty of the tracks. Especially Trials, Covenant prayers, End game and Sentry battle.

Not to sound rude of course, but due to lack of bi-lingual word filters, on Waypoint you have to type in English.

Yeah, some tracks pop on, even remixed, and you know its’ going down.

really

its nothing special, some are just copied tracks from halo 2.

I love the soundtrack simply for The Trials and Blue Team alone. Haven’t heard most of the others, but the one at the beginning of the menu music is a pretty good track too. Can’t think of the name.

I absolutely loved what I heard so far, even now I have one of the tracks stuck in my head.

I can’t wait to see how each piece of the soundtrack lays out into the game. I truly expect some epic moments in the campaign!

And hearing Arrival, thinking of master chief stopping the Didact before time runs out.

I can understand your points, but just remember that you’re comparing this soundtrack to the legendary soundtracks of the previous AAA Halo games by
Martin O’Donnell, which is pretty unfair. Not to mention that you have not played the game yet, so you do not know if the soundtrack does or doesn’t fit well with the gameplay or mood of the campaign mission. I’m sure once people play the game and get accustomed to the tune and style, they’ll like the soundtrack just fine. Maybe not as much as Halo 2 or 3, but I don’t think any new Halo game can beat those old soundtracks.

I’m a day one halo CE player. Thousands and thousands of hours with this franchise. My favourite series of all time. Even played the spin off games.

Halo 4 is the best campaign and the trials from the H5 OST is the best song in the franchise IMO.

Im basically a heretic.

I didn’t really think much of Halo 4’s soundtrack until AFTER I played the game.

Actually I think you never had strong opinions one way or the other about Marty’s Halo music…

If the music fits the moment well enough, it will become memorable

That’s the problem with H5…a really flat story
Even H4 had it’s great moments, but H5 was just…mediocre.
Maybe also due to playing as a team instead being the lone warrior in every mission.
