- Hey guys im sorry if this question seems stupid to you but I have no updated myself with info about halo 5 in the last couple of months and I would like to know if SMARTSCOPE is still there in halo 5 or will weapons zoom like they did in previous halo games?
Smart scope is there still and its not going away
i actually like that thank yoi for the response
I like it too.
For the weapons that had zoom in the previous games (DMR, BR, Carbine, ect.) it still functions the same, only it looks different. It being on the AR and shotgun and Needler and Plasma Pistol and SMG may take some getting used to. Or, actually, it won’t. What will be weird is going back and playing Halo 2 and inadvertently trying to zoom in with your SMG.
the important thing here is that although smart scope is stille there, it wont have a headshot multiplier or improve your accuracy any more than in previous halos. i think.
oh, ok, so one thing I was wondering and thats what Mrmartin85 was saying, is, does it look like aiming down sights like in the beta, for the BR, DMR, ETC or did they make it so it looks like in the old days where you cant see youre sorroundings when you zoom in ( sorry for my english by the way im foreign XD)
Yes. Also there is a custom scope equippable on the BR in Warzone and stuff that gives the classic scope and smart-link for all those that disliked the new SmartScope. I personally will probably switch because I can’t stand the BR’s scope right now lol.
The Dmr looks stupid and fat with that scope on

BR, SMG, DMR, Carbine, Magnum, Plasma Pistol … probably some more … those all aim down a sight. The AR, Shotgun, Needler, etc., they scope, but a holographic scope appears on your HUD and there’s a slight zoom.
Same as the beta, man. Here, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6Xz2Ggn5tU
I just looked back through the Halo 4 LCE booklets. Besides smart link being in books, it mentions smart link in the booklet as well. I thought that was neat. This wasn’t their new idea.
Functions like the Zoom we know, but has an awesome animation and graphic to go with it now.
Heck, you even physically pick up and attach Overshields to your armor now, but it still acts as we’ve always known and loved
I like it ^^
Oh thank god its staying I hate it when people say the aim makes it less like halo because if anything not being able to focus your weapon is stupid and makes you play like a jack -Yoink-.

You mean Aim Down Sights? Yeah it’s in the game.
For future reference, if it was in the beta it most likely still exists in the final build.
Still there…I like it though
It’s not like traditional ADS, it’s pretty cool and will be great.

That’s horribly-worded advice. The very reason public betas exist is to find bugs and get feedback from the community so many things in the beta WON’T be in the final build.
Smart Scope still in, not your typical ADS, since it acts how scopes have always used in Halo: get hit, you zoom out automatically. The only difference is that unlike previous Halo games, all weapons are capable of Smart Scoping now.
Apprently before the beta though, Smart Scope worked exactly like how ADS in most games works: you stay zoomed in, even when taking damage. Whoever play tested that build said that really wasn’t Halo like, and so it was changed to the Smart Scope that it is today.
Also keep in mind that heads hot multipliers on fully automatic weapons have also been removed.
