Halo 5 sights system

Hey people… Halo 5 do u think it will have similar sight systems like cod where you choose a sight??? Discuss below with if u think it would be a good input or a bad!!

I doubt they will offer this level of modularity with weapons. It may be cool, but I have always enjoyed the ubiquitous nature of Halo’s weapons. All the ARs, BRs, DMRs, etc. are the same (within a specific game of course)

it’s the EXACT SAME SYSTEM.

All that is changed is:

  • Different skinning for how it is done.- It is applied to all weapons, not just scoped weapons. If you have read the books, you know this is more accurate to the lore.

That last statement…just no. You guys push the envelope but that…really?

How does the Magnum have a scope without having an actual sight to look through on it?
If your scope is linked to your hud, why would you see the scope / sight itself? Is it having an out of body experience?
How does a Spartan even look down a scope when his helmet is in the way?

This ADS nonsense is just a way to make the game more familiar to modern gamers. Nothing to do with lore.

On-Topic, I don’t think there will be sight customization because there’s not much evidence for this being the case. If this customization were added to the current system I wouldn’t really care as long as it’s just cosmetic, but I’ll still always prefer the older zoom.

It is in no way more accurate. The books go into it a few times of the smart link between the gun and the hands of the spartan, and it would show the aiming reticule in their helmet. It also would zoom in, in their helmet’s HUD. At absolutely no time ever was a spartan depicted as having to use iron sights.
Also, the accuracy bonus for automatic weapons, the delay going into the scope, and the massive vision loss from the gun itself would like to have a word with your Exact Same System nonsense.

H5G Beta had Smartscope, and it’s perfect.

YEAH

I honestly would find it cool to have some sort of custom smart scope or custom HUD, but no actual changes to the guns. they should be uniform to one another. I hope this answers your question because I wasn’t sure if you meant smart scope by sight.

You really seem to have a hard time listening to me in any topic you post in don’t you…

I’m addressing Smart Scoping, this isn’t ADS. Notice in gameplay that you actually do zoom in on the target, and also notice that I convey that your perceived “ADS” is EXACTLY the same as prior zooming mechanics we have had in other Halo games, simply applied to all it’s weapons. Just let me go over the mechanics of Smart Scoping, and pair it up against ADS and everyone’s beloved zoom mechanics from past Halo games (Halo 4 not included)

“Classic Halo Zoom” (Halo 1-Halo Reach)

  • Applied to small number of weapons, primarily weapons capable of headshot medals (except for the Silenced SMG)
  • Descoped on hit
  • Didn’t improve accurate for the weapon (Except in the case of the forementioned SMG), but gave you a better idea of where in that area you were aiming.
  • Move at same speed if scoped, or not scoped.
    Smart Scoping (Halo 5: Guardians)
  • Applied to all weapons
  • Descoped on hit
  • Doesn’t improve accuracy (except for automated weapons)
  • Move at same speed if scoped, or not scoped
    ADS (CoD Style)
  • Applied to all weapons
  • Not descoped on hit
  • Improves accuracy of weapon drastically
  • Slowed speed when aiming.Only difference between “Classic Halo Zoom” and Smart Scoping is that it’s applied to all weapons, and how it looks on your screen. If 343 reskinned it so you only saw the reticle, it would act exactly the same. Only thing you are gaining from this new visual skin for it, is viewing your peripherals, and bringing another level feeling synchronized with your spartan.

Seriously man, read a halo book, then come back and talk… Every time you open your mouth I can’t help but feel like you don’t know what you are talking about…

Oh, and consolation prize: I agree that I don’t think they will give us other sights for guns, which is an honest shame, as I do miss the Battle Rifles “ACOG” like sight, the “Red Dot” version seems off to me.

> Every time you open your mouth I can’t help but feel like you don’t know what you are talking about…

Feeling’s Mutual.

> 'm addressing Smart Scoping, this isn’t ADS

A semantics argument. You are visually looking down the sight of a rifle.

> EXACTLY the same as prior zooming mechanics we have had in other Halo games

Aside from having a delay where none was present, tightening spread, and blocking your peripherals, sure.

But what I was addressing you is stating it makes more sense from a lore standpoint. No, it doesn’t.

I mean it’s spelled out for you a few posts above:

It is in no way more accurate. The books go into it a few times of the smart link between the gun and the hands of the spartan, and it would show the aiming reticule in their helmet. It also would zoom in, in their helmet’s HUD. At absolutely no time ever was a spartan depicted as having to use iron sights.

It doesn’t make any more sense from a lore standpoint. It’s only here to make a fresh audience feel more comfortable.

I sent you a private message earlier. Go back and look at Halo: First Strike, they have a chapter in there that goes over this… And yes, I DO agree, that you never saw the gun before, that I accept. However you need to accept that the ability to aim with all weapons is a great improvement (as long as they don’t try to demand we use Smart Scoping at all times)…

When I heard that I was going to be stuck with the game’s loadout, and that typically being an AR, I wasn’t a happy guy, but once I played the game, and realized that Smart Scoping made the AR more relevant than any other Halo game had to that point, the game had my attention.

a custome HUD would actually be very interesting.

i also dont think they’ll make different scopes. just keep that the same for the weapons.
