If Spartans can ground pound can’t they also have a vice versa but just jumping up at a fast speed to get to certain heights easier.
Why should this ability be added?
The reason I think they should have abilities is because they have thruster packs and since we have no armor abilities it would add more tactics and mobility if Spartans are able to reach to certain heights in many maps that have platforms on different heights such as plaza.
How its going to work?
The thruster jump will be activated by pushing your thruster and jump button at the same time.
This will push you up by about 2x - 1.5(343 Industry decide what jump height increase)of your jump height the speed and the forward speed is normal walking speed or sprint speed if your are currently sprinting.
The Thruster jump will be having a cost of normal thruster pack use and will be a cost to your thruster packs as they have to recharge after thruster jumping.
I wish 343 Industries would take note of this ability and bring it to Halo 5 in the coming updates.
Frankly, I think this is a terrible idea and it would only serve complicate the ability set further with basically no practical utility. The maps were designed and balanced with the current jump height in mind. This would break things.
i’ll take thrusters before every other armor ability reach added, they actually feel right in halo 5
-edit-
i read that wrong thruster jump no thank you
just no…
Already have thruster packs and ground pound and noob charge… why do we need this, especially with clamber which is a risk and reward kind of ability
Oh god no, please not this, its just not needed.
That would be the worst thing ever, if I wanted to play advanced warfare i’d play that -Yoink- game instead. I’m getting flashbacks of bunny hopping gunfights already, a jetpack pickup for warzone as a req might be cool…but it should function as it did in Halo 4 and not some boosting BS.
There have been plenty of times where I have wanted to jump that little bit higher. I think this is not a good idea though. Jetpacks killed map flow. Maps have to be designed around these types of movement abilities and this game hasn’t been designed this way. Where enemies are coming from would be so unpredictable and utterly chaotic imo with the current map set.
Power positions are already a dying concept in Halo 5 as it is with Clamber in the mix. This will only hurt things more.
