Halo 5 Should Aim Between Halo 3 and CE

They seem to be the most fun and balanced.

Bring in Halo 3s killtimes, map structure, overall art direction, and features.

But include this with Halo CEs vehicle power, aim assist, and strafing.

Also an Assault Rifle buffed to be between Halo: CEs and Halo 3s would be beautiful.

And nerf armor abilities to only small defensive, in-combat things like thruster pack and hardlight shield and bring back a more balanced set of equipment!

Many people are saying to go back to the age of Halo 2, DO NOT DO THIS PLEASE 343! That game was horribly balanced, had the worst art direction, lets not forget about those glitches, and the magnetism that is worse in that game than any other. The fact that game gets so much praise is beyond me (aside from being one of the first online console FPS games). Halo 3 seems like a much better version of Halo 2.

Yes, yes and yes.

I would also like to see AA’s get reverted back into equipment.

As much as I disliked equipment back when Halo 3 first came out, I’ll take them any day of the week over Armour abilities.

Add both, everyone’s happy. AA’s in one playlist, Equipment in the other. For God’s sake it’s not that hard to do.

I suggest double checking my thread. I state a way that I believe could allow equipment and armor abilities to co-exist. Honestly I JUST WANT MY BUBBLE SHIELD AND POWER DRAIN.

I read it but I’m still fairly skeptical. It’s a darn shame there’s no way the community can test their ideas before asking 343 to do it.

AA’s change the way players act on the map, Equipment changes the way the map acts toward the players. A well placed power drainer can effectively do the same thing as blocking a door off momentarily. A jetpack however changes how a player will navigate the map, often bypassing doors, a combination of such things could equalize them out effectively making it pointless.

They’re two different theories on how to change the pace, action, and flow of a map, combining the two is a risky and unpredictable task.

Halo 2’s kill times are quicker than 3’s, so are Halo 4’s, and Halo 3 had less aim assist than CE.

Halo 4’s assault rifle already kills faster than 3’s and its getting a slight buff with the new weapon changes.

By vehicle power what do you mean? Do you mean how fast they kill or do you want indestructible Warthogs? Also some of the vehicles are getting a buff in terms of their killing power.

I think Halo 2’s maps are better than Halo 3’s.

Halo 4’s art direction kind of is like Halo 3’s, its certainly not like Reach’s.

I agree with everything OP said. I just wanted to say something, and please do not get mad.

I know that everyone hates AAs and class system, but I am only making a suggestion.

I think that only adding classes to a playlist like big team battle would work out or maybe they could make a class system that works kind of like specializations except you would be matched up in games where no two people on each team have the same class.

Also AAs like camo could only be earned after maybe 10 kills and it would be only be limited to a certain class and the ability would be lost at death.

I don’t. I only hate Jetpack and I dislike Camo and PV. As for loadouts I like being able to chose your starting weapons. I think 343i should do away with tactical and support packages though and just have most of those abilities built in.

> Bring in Halo 3s killtimes

No.

I agree with u if halo 5 is gunna be like halo reach or 4 i aint buying it

Why CE vehicles? What do they have to offer? The newer versions have better handling, support for gunner seats in the tank, banshee tricks, and boost for various Covenant vehicles. Not to mention the rocket hog was always ditched because it was slow and ineffective. The current upgraded vehicles are much better.

I love you right now, and I’d like to add something: Better balancing of load-outs, I believe the only side arm you should be able to carry is a pistol.

Vehicle variance, maybe MORE vehicles would be nice as well.

H2’s Campaign has an admirable art direction…

It should aim for Halo 2’s kill times since they were the best in series which were in my opinion a good medium between Halo CE and Halo 3 kill times.

If there’s one thing they need to take from Halo 3 it’s the vehicle balance it had the most balanced vehicle set none of them felt under powered the warthog was actually powerful and they weren’t made of paper like Vehicles in Halo reach/4 are.

Also the Halo 2 BR without spread needs to return it only needs recoil, spread, is unnecessary and just adds randomness to the gun.

Along with Halo 2’s base traits H2’s movement speed/strafe and shield recharge time which were the best in the series as far as I’m concerned.

AA’s need to go back to being equipment.
