So I have been trying to play Halo 5 and every time I try to load a game a get a message saying 'An error occurred while searching for players. Please try again." I then press A then about 2 seconds later I am sent back to the dashboard and either get a message saying “If you would like to play this game you need to purchase it” or “To play this game you need to be online.” Everything else that has a WI-FI connection works fine. I.e laptop, phone etc. Was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this today.

You should check to see if your Xbox Live gold subscription expired.
Maybe check your internet connection on your Xbox. Also, did you purchase the game or was it a free trial? If so, then you’ll have to buy the game. If you also can’t play campaign, then that’s probably the problem. It could also be that you don’t have Xbox live gold. Can you play online in other games? If not, then there’s your problem.
