Has anyone else noticed that the sayonara medal is impossible to get? Why? getting an unfrig is easier than getting this medal. 343 please fix. does anyone ACTUALLY have this medal?
It cant be gotten conventionally. It’s not “broken,” but the way it’s obtained is never utilized in Matchmaking during normal play. All instant-death barriers are used in Matchmaking. For the medal to trigger, an enemy has to die via “Killed by the Guardians” which is usually inclusive to getting outside the maps and hitting these death areas (usually by accident). You also have to be awarded the kill for a player who touches said areas. I know what the medal description says, but since falling to your death is triggered by a physical instant-kill volume, if those were removed, you’d fall outside the map and inevitably the play area, thus getting killed by the guardians. That’s where the problem lies.
Trust me, I’ve gotten one when someone got outside the map on Overgrowth before it was originally patched and I damaged him enough for him to try and run for cover outside the map. He touched a “Killed by the Guardians” trigger zone and I was awarded the kill and a Sayonara medal in the process.

Ok well it was custom games then when I tested it. Regardless, the fact still remains that that’s the reasoning why it’s unobtainable conventionally. Can still be gotten in matchmaking via the ways I pointed out but it’s not a typical medal you’re ever going to get unless you come across someone who gets out of maps or hides.
Unless it’s been patched to no longer function the way I stated, I can show you in a custom game.

yes I believe that the medal is broken and will never be fixed. I guess it was just never meant to be. who know, in a future update it might be fixed

You guys literally didn’t even listen to my reply. It’s not broken. It’s coded in a way that it’s unattainable based on how the maps are set up. I supplied a way to get it that validated my explanation and theory but you people don’t even try it. The proof is there.

B.s. explanation, but did you even test It? Didn’t think so. If you can’t provide any further evidence besides “it’s broke” then you aren’t helping anyone.

i have never been awarded the metal either. i’ve shot numerous enemies as they fallen to their deaths, got credit for the kill, but no medal

Does the definition of the medal say that? NO it says you wound them, they fall to their death. PERIOD. Then that’s what I expect. It doesn’t do that, so it’s broke.

What you arent grasping is they arent FALLING TO THEIR DEATH. They are touching a coded hard-kill zone! Same exact things you place in Forge! Thats not “falling to your death” when you touch them. If they were removed, then they would fall to their deaths. Medal works correctly. Maps just aren’t set up to support them the way they were meant to.
