Halo 5 sales

Any info concerning this? I’ve heard nothing so far. With the previous halos they were right away giving the amazing sales figures.

I also wonder if halo 5 had a big impact on xbox one sales.

They usually wait a week before announcing ales figures. This will help Xbox sales, because now they can say there is one huge game this season that is only available on Xbox one. PS4 doesn’t have that this entire holiday season, everything is 3rd party for them. So it will boost Xbox one sales but not enough to surpass Sony.

I think the bigger boon in sales will come closer to the holidays, with all the sales going on then. Many people might be waiting until then to purchase it for themselves or as a gift for another.

Over 400 million dollars made in sales amd when you take in account the 60-100 or so dollar price for the game means that there are atleast a few million copies sold.

The -Yoink!- and 343 spin of this is kind of funny,

Halo:Reach Numbers

  • 70 Million+ Games have been played - 235 Million+ Player-Games have been played - 2 Million+ Files have been uploaded to File Shares - 5,901 man-years have been spent in online Reach games (sorry, Corporate America!) - 20 Million Daily challenges have been completed - 709,840 Weekly challenges have been completed - 165 Billion Credits have been earnedHalo 5

The widely praised multiplayer modes have also led to nine million total hours played with nearly seven million multiplayer matches played across Arena and the all-new Warzone mode.

7 Million games

So Reach had 63 Million more in week one.

Totally the biggest launch.

Results from the UK were released in terms of the quantity of games sold and the number was rather low. It seems the quantity of games sold is lackluser. So sales volumes are not supported thus far.

On the flip side, the revenue numbers in dollars (not copies sold) is rather high $-400MM. Keep in mind the old Halo games use to cost $50 while some individual Halo 5 games cost as much as $250. Also. included in the revenues were REQs pack revenue. Some people are saying the $500 Halo Xbox One Bundle was included as well in the revenue numbers. Microsoft has not clarified. If the sales revenue is from diehards buying the $250 games (they usually but it during the first week), the number may be heavily skewed. It’s strange why Microsoft will not tell us how many copies were sold (as opposed to Halo 5 revenue).

400 million dollars, swimming in a sea of green right meow! Pretty sure that beats all Halo launches in sales.

Microsoft has announced that they have sold 400 million dollars worth of halo 5 content including limited and console editions.

Well thank you for that because I didn’t want to look like a complete tool for saying it was the biggest launch in Halo history.
Good looking out!

Again, Microsoft factors in “hardware” sales into that figure, meaning it’s not $400 million in games sold, it’s $400 million in games, controllers, consoles, mics, strategy guides, etc.

That figure means nothing. The post about how many games/hours played in the first week between Reach and Halo 5 was truly telling.

Don’t worry about the sales, Justin Bieber has a lot of views doesn’t mean his music is good.
And a lot of people don’t like “Futuristic” games atleast that’s what they say, but then Call of Duty copy-cats Halo and all of the sudden it’s not a big deal

The Point is just because something doesn’t sell that much doesn’t mean it isn’t a great game.

You’re correct in saying that sales don’t merit quality.

Just because a lot of people bought the game, doesn’t mean a lot of people are playing it nor plan on playing it ever again post launch.

That alone is a much bigger issue than the money it made.

I would like to know as well

His source is literally Bungie, the creators of the game. Link is in another thread I made, about Halo’s previous launches compared to Halo 5’s.

EDIT: LOL The dude edited his post after making himself look foolish.

Holidays is the biggest console seller.

Not even close to being the biggest launch… they said on non xbox sites that they sold $400 million and games and hardware. Check out my post to find out the answers, 343i padded their sales.
