Okay, super casual here once again but like… Halo 5’s armor customization. Love it? Hate it? Why?
Personally, I think it’s weak when you look at the games that came before it. Honestly couldn’t be more disappointed. I love how specific you could customize in Halo 4. I hear a lot of praise for Halo: Reach’s customization but Halo 4’s really made your spartan feel like yours.
Halo 5 just throws a metric s*** ton of armor helmets and visors options but that’s all. Just three categories. I’d rather have less selection but more personalization, that’s all.
Hate it. The “different” variations are a waste and the inability to change different shoulders or remove those terrible white decals really hurts fans like myself who see our identity in our Spartan
I will give it this though. I get the most satisfactory iteration of the Mark V Armor, and I couldn’t be happier. Hope to see it in every halo game to follow it’s just so classic
While Halo 5 has my favorite armor set of any Halo game, I agree the customization options are lacking. Halo 4 and Reach were the high point for customization and it was weird to see fewer options than what we had in Halo 3.
Halo Reach’s customization made my Spartan feel the most like mine. I think there should also be more color options and more than just two different colors on your spartan. There should be as many as you want.

I agree, Reach’s customization was the best in the series. As for color, I’m surprised the games just don’t employ a color wheel at this point. Many other titles have it now.

Perhaps it’s because it’s simpler to understand? Not everyone is an old vanguard of Installation 04. Plenty of new young players got into Halo via Halo 5. Or, budget and resource cuts?

I agree, only being able to change three things is total bs, I mean with 3 different options you basically have no real choixes, cause then your spartan looks bland and stupid m because every match you end up fighting a duplicate version of yourself, and to top it off halo 5 ditched playable elites, it’s like their trying to kill off the best part of the series
I’ve unlocked all armours, visors, and helmets (except Achilles of course) and I must admit that though there is ALOT more options in H5 than there were in both H4 and Reach the customization is seriously lacking… A few things that I’d like to note
Color: the color pallet for H5 is basic at best… The fact you can only choose 2 colors for the main armour components is a pretty big set back compared to H4 and Reach. And seeing as some armour has sections where colors are not changeable, such as the white on some armour selections, makes color selection almost redundant. Not to mention that any seasoned player knows that darker colors is best since most the PVP maps are darker themselves. Any bright colored armor puts almost any player and a serious disadvantage as they stand out like a sore thumb.
Visors: I guess my biggest issue here is selection… There’s just not enough visor options available compared to armour and helmets. And whats with the 2 tone colors… It really doesn’t make any difference. Just keep the colors simple solids but give us more options.
Emblems: simple… Just too many… I like the concept of emblems but if there were fewer options to choose from would it really make much a difference.
Customization: ok… Here is the highlight… Left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg, helmet, torso. Being able to change these in H4 and Reach was simple just AWESOME… being able to make my Spartan my own made game play ALOT more fun. Don’t know why exactly… Just did

Personally I agree go back to the system where you played to earn a certain armor not a randomized micro transaction

> My standpoint is in between hating it and loving it. I love the different variations of an armor, but then you get too much white or some other color…
As a white potato, I take offense to that! xD
Jokes aside, my problem with the costumizations is the color palette of the game. Everything looks soooo cartoon-ish!!
My Spartan is a representation of the stone-cold killer, the ruthless, patient predator with nerves of steel inside me. And it looks like a Pokémon!
There are alot of helmets, and armors, but I’ve SERIOUSLY only found about 2-3 that I actually like.
That’s, I believe, why it FEELS like the costumization is limited.
Some parts of an armor can look really good, only to be ruined by some attachment or inherent colour scheme.
That’s why being able to take different parts of a whole armor-set to make my own, unique, armor-combination was so good. (Like H4)
