HALO 5 REQ IDEAS: HALO CE ASSAULT RIFLE

A halo ce assault rifle would be a nice req to have in halo 5. If this was added, what would you modify on it?

Make it have the same damage as a Saw and the same Req level as a regular Saw.
Not mythic tho, just a legendary req.

Just going to paste my previous thoughts on such an idea:

Here we go again I don’t want it and here’s why.

What if it had over penetrating rounds and did 40% more damage to Ai and vehicles than the halo 5 ar but remained a load out weapon. It would have the big circle reticle from halo CE and would tear through everything like a boss.

If it was done well, it would be pretty cool. I just want my CE Shotgun back (or design, I can’t stand the shotgun design in this game).

But what purpose would it serve? We already have an SMG and Assault Rifle. The only thing different about it would be its sound and look.

Again it could be as powerful as The Answer, serving as a power weapon for warzone and super fiesta as well as customs, Possibly being a SAW alternative with a powerup like damage resistance or movement boost. I mean look at the Jorge’s turret, serves no purpose but it’s freaking powerful, same can be done with the CE AR.

I not saying it should be added, I just saying what could be done with it if it was.

YES. This is a good idea and I have wanted it for a long time. It would be great for machinima, classic maps, and a low-level alternative to the SMG in warzone. Also, who likes the old smgs from halo 2a multiplayer? and also Shotgun from halo ce is the most powerful shotgun in halo, I would love to have it in halo 5. btw, the halo ce pistol is not at all like how it was in halo 5. It should be just like it in it’s bad accuracy and big swapping time. It could be a level 7 or 8 loadout gun or something. Sorry I am saying so much about things that are not regarding the Halo CE assault rifle. This post just gives me nostalgia and makes me think about the old guns.

well, actually the old assault rifle is effective at close range and can be used at mid range if you fire in short bursts. Another thing to consider is that it has more magazine capacity (60!), it has exactly the same damage as two halo 2 SMGs (nobody ever said they sucked!), way more rate of fire than all other ARs, and it has absolutely NO recoil.

Could say the same about the Boltshot, suppressor, binary rifle, incineration cannon, they all changed from H4 to H5 some greatly, others not so much. Could also say the same for The Answer, Ad Victorium, Blood of suban, voids tear, Razors edge, hailstorm, talon of the lost, pretty much every REQ variant.
Are you telling me the Blaze of Glory isn’t a shotgun because it had changes to its original code?

The CE AR would still be the CE AR if it looks like the CE AR, has 60 rounds and a ridiculous fire rate. If you saw it on the floor you’d recognise it since it’s stubbier and not as sleek looking than the current AR and it’ll probably be a low poly like the CE Magnum. If it functioned like it did in the first game it would be the CE AR, if it was overpowered and dominated it would still be the CE AR. Look at Jorge’s turret, it’s still the turret from Reach but they changed to the coding to make it very powerful.

Jorge’s Chaingun is a signature weapon, though. As is the Prophets’ Bane, as is the Nornfang. The CE AR was just a standard AR. :confused:

Ravening Silver isn’t a signature weapon, End of the Line isn’t a signature weapon, the SAW is just a standard SAW, Shotgun is just a standard shotgun. There are special weapons for nearly every weapon type, just the AR, SMG, DMR and BR don’t have special weapons unless you count H2BR for the BRs. Being a signature weapon seems to have nothing to do with it I mean a lot of weapons didn’t need to return like the Grenade launcher and the Brute Plasma Rifle were pleasant additions but in reality, unneeded. So if the CE AR was to return, what I’ve suggested earlier would be the two probable outcomes of it.

Also as weapon nut (I love pretty much every halo weapon in they’re own special ways) I am deeply offended that you would doubt a weapons potential :,(

It’s true that many weapons changed from -h4 to h5, but we don’t call them h4 incineration cannons, or h4 boltshots.
I still believe blaze of glory is a shotgun, just not a pure shotgun but rather a shotgun variant. Same with all the other req variants: they’re all variants.
Observe how the CE magnum could land a 3 shot kill in H CE. Is this not how it works in H5? If we were to nerf it to 4 shots, it would no longer be the CE magnum; it would just be a H5 variant of a CE magnum.
Similarly, drastically undercutting the CE AR would mean we get the H5 variant of the CE AR, not the CE AR itself. It’s alright to have slight tweaks, but the tweaks need to be more than slight to make it balanced in the game.
As for Jorge’s Chaingun, it’s not called “Halo Reach Chaingun” for a reason.

It would be a pointless addition to the game. I would rather have the devs spend their time creating new content and better reqs, not an assault rifle that’s worse than the one we have now.
