Aside from new maps, weapons, new campaign and abilities, what will make Halo 5 unique? With Halo 4 the introduction of Armour abilities and Spartan ops with some new game modes made it unique and different compared to other Halo titles. How will Halo 5 do this?
Right now the only new thing is gameplay additions so it is basically new abilities with the enhanced melee and scopes for all weapons. It really needs something that makes it unique like a huge multiplayer mode on dedicated servers, possibly 64 players. In this mode you could join a faction it would be like Elites vs Spartans and your faction would get more points based on wins and if your faction is winning you get extra unique skins and other stuff.
That would be awesome!! Just imagine that for other playlists as well. Imagine a 64 player Infection game, that would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!
I think this would be somewhat hard to do because halo has always had small gametypes like team doubles. that means that the maps have to be decently small but you also need some that are decently big! not undoable but its a big range to cover I always though that invasion slayer on boneyard or spire could of handled more people.
And bring back different playable races (elites, brutes, prometheans). I think that’s what made invasion more fun for me was the fact that it wasn’t just spartan on spartan combat.

Shut your pie hole orb, and I think it would be fun for invasion and maybe some other objective gametypes to have that many players, otherwise I don’t see it working very well, unless they make vehicles relevant again, but people can’t communicate or work together with 8v8 I can’t imagine 16 morons running around trying only to pad their KD. The other thing you would need is a HUGE population.
Yea that is a great idea, there could be a 3 way game mode with Prometheans vs elites vs Spartans. 8 vs 8 vs 8.
They should also bring back invasion.
To top it all off there should be a huge team battle mode, possibly hosted on dedicated servers, 64 players, Spartans vs Elites and Spartans vs Spartans, all of it depending on the map / variation. Could have Capture the Flag and Slayer game types with this.
It is all a dream though, I doubt 343 would ever add something like this. I bet we will get another halo game with new weapons, abilities, maps , some new game modes but nothing that really sets it apart from Halo 1/2/3. Halo 4 was unique in my opinion due to the introduction of armour abilities and spartan ops.
if 343 ads anything I suggested above then it will be a truly unique halo games. Halo 1/2/3 all felt similar in the way that they all just had what you would expect, new maps, weapons and graphics but nothing really unique about it compared to the other games. The only really new thing added was Forge and that continued through halo 2/3.
It’s more or less confirmed that something big and new is happening with multiplayer. This may just be bigger big team battles, Invasion may return, AI infantry (Marines, Grunts) may be added like the grunts in Titanfall to help new players get kills and have fun, we may see Elites again in regular old matchmaking, there may be some sort of meta game or canon explanation for what is going on in multiplayer, like a UNSC vs. Covenant, maybe deeper character persistence and customization, etc.
Frankie said somewhere one of the reasons they added Spartan abilities is because it allows for them to do cool stuff in campaign and “unannounced multiplayer stuff.” So there’s certainly a ton more yet to come. It’d be nice to get a taste before E3 but I figure that’s when we’ll finally hear something.
We’ve seen so little of H5… 343i stressed that Arena was just ONE mode and there were serveral hints that pointed into the direction of a more large-scaled MP experience - so chances are good that your wish will come true OP!
64 v 64 Invasion fused with dominion w/space battles. call it Invasion 2.0
If were to have 18+ player counts we need it to be objective based.
As the # of players increase their individual affect on the score decreases.
So we can feel like were actually doing something there needs to be a group goal.
A 64 player firefight mode in a big open map with all the halo wars vehicles (vehicles from all halo games). Everyone starts with ten lives, in the higher waves the flood enters the game and attacks everyone on the map cov and unsc.

I will honestly be surprised if 343i even allows 16v16. If 343i figures how to support 32v32 for their large scale mode and keep it fun then I will be very excited.
No, it really doesn’t. Core Halo games need a large scale multiplayer mode as much as core Battlefield games need a small scale multiplayer gamemode, which is to say not at all.
What you are asking is for the developers to satisfy two completely different styles of gameplay in one title, which will never go well. Either one experience will get the lion’s share of time and resources or neither of them will ending up with both experiences being mediocre.
If you want to create a epic, large scale multiplayer game, then make an epic large scale multiplayer games. If you want to make an more intimate and competitive small scale game then do it. Don’t try and stuff one everything into one title.
Its not as if the Halo universe is incapable of supporting different styles of game. I would be all over a 64 player+ multiplayer game set in the Halo universe. Multiple Marines, grunts, jackals, etc. Larger vehicles like Pelicans/Phantoms, perhaps even a Scarab gamemode. I would love to see these types of things, but tying it to the core series would just hold it back. Asking for a 64 player ‘gamemode’ is like asking for Battlefield style commander mode instead of having a true strategy game like Halo Wars.
Though based off of what I have seen so far, if you want to see higher player counts(perhaps not quite 64p), in Halo 5 you will probably get what you want. Between the mobility options, ADS, and complete radio silence on BTB, I expect you will see a higher player count gamemode revealed at or around E3.
