Halo 5 - Rationally. (Mild spoilers ahead)

I’ve been lurking on the forums all morning and reading all the threads, both needlessly negative and overly positive, and just wanted to throw my $.02 in to the thread listing. Halo 5’s story wasn’t all it could have been, seeing as we’ve all had 3 years to imagine what it could be like, but it was pretty good. Exuberant Witness was the sleeper character I knew nothing about who suddenly skyrocketed to the top of my ‘Favorite Characters’ list. She was rad. Locke didn’t suck to play as, and Osiris had a lot of cool moments. The Arbiter ('nuff said) and Cortana got real interesting real quick. Overall, I liked it a lot.
Warzone is fun, the req system is weird but cool, and I enjoy playing it for giggles. I don’t think it’s Pay-2-Win, although I can see where that line of logic comes from I think it’s a remarkably tuned system, especially considering it enables us all to get shiny free maps rather than shelling out ~15 bucks per map pack. You can all buy your ONI Gauss warthogs with pizza oven and -Yoink!- attachments, I’ll just kill you and get to drive it around. Arena rocks - Especially Breakout. I don’t mind the power weapon and spartan callouts - It gives me context for the match and data on enemies and power weapons without having to beg my team to mic up. Plus the immersion factor goes way up when you put a bullet through a guy’s visor and the Spartan running by behind you goes ‘Took his head clean off!’.
The thrusters / hover / slide is the best addition to Halo in a LONG time. It feels great and still feels like Halo. Overall, there are some things I would change (Miserable team-mate AI, remove the Warden from existence entirely because seriously -Yoink- that guy) and some things I dislike (Shields feel a LITTLE BIT too flimsy), but I am so happy with this release and will be playing it regularly for a long long time. Good on you, 343. Solid release. It’s not an “OH MY GOD 10/10 I CANNOT BELIEVE MY EYES” but I’d give it a solid 8.

Luckily for me, I’m good at detecting spoilers early on and averting my eyes. That said, i didn’t read much, if anything you said.

OP, make sure you put a spoiler warning in title. Also be sure to hide things that haven’t been released by promotional media behind spoiler tags.

Yeah I’d suggest spoilering that, man (even if it is a vague spoiler). Otherwise, this is a quite nicely structured opinion.

Spoiler’ed, sorry if it was too much plot information, I thought I was being pretty safe.
