Halo 5 rated T for teen

MODS THIS IS NOT A LEAK

start of the video

It seems to be rated T for Blood, Mild Language, and Violence. Thoughts?

Kinda sad

Why does Halo 5 need to be rated M?

Looks like 343 was not lying about the flood.

I like blood and violence, but it certainly isn’t a deal breaker to have it be rated T.

I don’t know why the Halo series was ever rated M to begin with, it was a VERY tame M at best.

Halo 4 got an “M” for “Blood / Violence”

So maybe the standards have changed.

How is that sad? Halo 2 was almost rated T for teen the only real reason it got the M rating was because of the image of one of the devs mooning the camera. Games aren’t built with a rating, they are presented to the ratings board and given the rating. If the ESRB feels Halo 5 isn’t an M rated game that’s perfectly fine. Halo 4 in my opinion should have had a T rating. Developers don’t go “Okay lets build a game with the T rating in mind!” they go okay let’s build a game people will love and enjoy. So please explain how is this sad?

Doesn’t bother me at all. Honestly I never really thought that Halo deserved an M-rating to begin with. The crude language is extremely minimal and often reserved to ambient banter between NPC marines, and it’s certainly never been a game focused on glorifying blood/gore and ultraviolence. A T-rating makes perfect sense.

Surprised? Yes. Disappointed? No. Games shouldn’t be defined by their rating. I’ve played lots of amazing T rated shooters. The rating slapped on the box doesn’t mean much to me anyway.

Halo has always been on the cusp of being Rated T anyway. Not a problem

The flood was pretty gruesome.

eh not a big deal, Halo isn’t known for blood and gore anyway… now if a game like Gears of War got a T rating then we’d have a huge problem.

I’m just so use to seeing rated M.

Did 343i take out the blood splatter when dying/headshotting? I believe that’s the sole reason for past games being ‘M’.

Halo 2 had an image of a Bungie employee mooning the camera hidden in the code that gave it a “M” rating. CE had just voluminous amounts of blood and gross flood stuff.

I’m kinda thinking maybe the rating system is a bit less conservative than it once was. Like I said above, Halo 4 got an “M” for just blood and violence. Not even a mention of “mild language” … and to think that Halo 4 and GTA 5 have the same rating? That’s ridiculous.

And I’m pretty sure most of us were teens when we started playing Halo (I was around 18 or 19 when I started playing CE in 2003 or 2004, so … technically an adult, but still).

It’s sad for me because what does that mean for the campaign? Early interviews about Halo 5 said it was going to be one of the darkest and grittiest games in the franchise. I was looking forward to that, but I guess that has been changed if we’re only getting a T rating.

We all are, but it shouldn’t be sad. Halo 5 isn’t even the first Halo to get a T rating Halo Wars, Spartan Strike and Assault are all T games. Honestly T invites a wider audience to enjoy the franchise we all love.

In Australia our M is your T and our MA is your M.

Pretty much most Halo games have either been MA or M, I think it’s always either been on the extremer end of M and on the weaker side of MA.
It’s always been in the middle.

How does a T rating stop it from being dark and gritty? Blood and violence does not equal dark and gritty
