What percentage of the population is placed in each rank? I understand that champion is top 200 but what about the other rankings. What percentage of the population is placed in onyx, diamond, platinum ect.

Well they can’t be static, as you can move up into a different bracket, but cannot move down. I am stuck in onyx in swat, in which I get decimated (Look at my K/D) and wish I could drop down to diamond or even platinum. It would be nice if 343 revealed their ranking parameters.
Keep in mind this is only for the people that have registered or viewed their stats on halotracker.com. I would still think it is atleast half, if not more then half of the total halo 5 population.

Yeah, it will be a while before this is accurate. It is hard to believe 36% is onyx in swat, while 0% is bronze.
