Halo 5 ranking system

Hello all,
I would like to address something that has angered me slightly (okay I mean a lot) this is the ranking system in Halo 5. First things first I have heard many times that this is suppose to be a skill based ranking system yet I find that it’s more of a luck based system. Why? Because it depends if you get put in a match with people of equal skill which most of the time it does not. Currently I am in Bronze 1 with a k/d of 6.4 and I get put into matches with people with 2.0 k/d’s (2.0 k/d is an estimate) (most of these people are silver or even gold) this often makes me lose the match and gives me a ‘performance decrease’ but in reality this stat has almost nothing to do with performance. For example I just had a match where I lost but I did get 22 kills and around 4 deaths this the furthest thing from a performance decrease in fact it is the best I’ve done ever in the beta (from what I know of) so it should actually be a performance increase.

Anyway i I hope this shed some light on the subject. Feel free to leave any replies. Also can some one tell me if there is a place where I can send this directly to 343? I would appreciate that. :slight_smile:

People can say “Teamwork is skill” all they want, but when you get matched up with crap teammates it doesn’t matter the least bit. I just played a game where some guy and I went +6 and +4 respectively. That being said, we lost miserably because our other two players went 3-21 and 0-4 (he quit early).

A legit system will take into account the fact that ‘just because you lose, doesn’t mean you should de-rank or lose decent chunks of exp.’ I have carried the team on my back several games, only to come up short of a victory, then get a large chunk of my rank removed; it’s BS. Teamwork is important, but being matched with competent teammates is luck. Not to mention that people rarely use mics anymore.

I do think that a greater emphasis on individual performance is necessary. Also… i want latency factored into the equation as well. If I get crushed by players who have no latency to the server, whereas if I am 100ms behind them, then that should be factored into the whole thing.
