Halo 5’s ranking system is garbage. Completely pointless and has no meaning, as kids who are garbage are in onyx because they had gotten carried through their 10 games. Thus being so they are in a division they do not belong in, and cannot go down. 343, please bring back 1-50 and listen to the veteran players.
Now that this post has some activity to it as well, i might as well put what i believe to be some issues with the game other than the ranking system.
AR & Pistol need to be nerfed in range. (Self Explanatory)
Better map rotation (Aside from the maps not being too great, they never rotate. I was running swat today and played Orion three times out of four games.
BR starts (Self explanatory, not sure what 343 was thinking)
More playlists (Snipers, doubles & MLG is a must)
Fixed spawns (Got two kilamanjaros in swat three days ago, ridiculous spawn killing).
Being able to hear your fireteam before going in the lobby
BEING ABLE TO SEE THE OTHER TEAMS RANK IN THE LOADING LOBBY (Very frustrating).

I find myself getting matched against people with the quite same skill-lvl as me.
Every match is close and intense, I think I haven’t played one match in H5, that has been “staketacular”.
At least in Onyx it seems that way and according to my mates from Gold to Plat feel the same way. This is probably the most efficient ranking system since 3 to be totally honest.

Not more than reach, but more than halo 4. Halo 4 was one of the worst games I’ve played (just because its titled halo).
I’m in onyx for free for all. If you want a playlist that you cannot be carried through than play that playlist. For me every game has been a challenge and I love it

Because in FFA your rank increases if you’re top 3-4. Its the easiest place to go high.

My brother lost two games, not coming in top 4 and he got onyx still. The only meaningful rank in this game is champion. Like as i stated, if you’re terrible but play with three good kids you can get carried to onyx and then you’re stuck there. As my buddy ran with my friends and i (all onyx) he was put in diamond and he is completely trash.

Well that’s just two out of ten. FFA is still the easiest place to go Onyx so its not a viable reason. Getting carried doesn’t prove the ranking system to be trash, anyone can get carried the similar way to the top in any other games ranking system.

Yes, but they can easily go down as well. Ive played onyx players who were worse than golds.
And as for the statement that this was the same in past halos- for 1-50 you couldn’t just win your first 10 games by being carried or getting lucky and be a 50- you had to actually be good, and win quite a few more than 10 games. And in halo 3, the XP system was phenomenal with the service record, giving you something to go for after you get the 50.
